    Inny Cosmic Narwhal

This is a tile, not an item.

  2. Vegetable Lamb

    Vegetable Lamb Existential Complex

Now I must have things to construct and underwater base on ocean worlds. We really need domes in this game.

Anyway, I noticed the new star systems tend to be only Frackin' planets. You should mix it a bit with the default worlds that appear with that star type.

    Aurtose Subatomic Cosmonaut

Still getting the same problems :/
Would the presence of blister pod, zathi and lashers on my ship when I updated cause this?

Anyway, another error log now that it stops responding when I try and load the character just in case it helps.

    You know what? Fine.

I was trying to tell you there's something wrong with your mod, this behavior is obviously not normal. I lost my temper at the snide remarks by your moronic fanbase, but otherwise was coherent in concise as I could be with the problems at hand. And no, your code is not perfect. That is to be expected from one person working on a mod this ambitious.

But no, even with the error, even with describing what steps were already taken to fix or work around whatever the mod did, even though I very much could present the log file I still have? As a game designer myself I honestly don't think it would do dick, if you or fanbase treat people with problems like this. If this was Q&A, you would be dealt with by a manager and let go, or the whole of the project would suffer.

You figure out your own problems on your own.

You? A game designer? And you don't even know how a StarBound mod works in relation to save files? Don't be pathetic.......if you're going to make up stories at least make up something that is less of an obvious lie......you know, something that might take someone five minutes before they figure out you're lying instead of less than five seconds. You can't claim to be a doctor when your idea of a surgery involves a muddy chainsaw and you've never heard of anesthetics......that's kind of where you are now.

You used a mod and something broke (which is always a possibility when you modify a game in any shape or form)

And in your very first post about it, you assumed nothing could possibly be your fault and were extremely snide.

What exactly was the response you were expecting? Because frankly I'm surprised anybody bothered to try helping you after that.

Given the blatantly, obviously fake crap he's spewing now(talking about code, claiming to be a designer) I think he's either a kid with a bad attitude or an incredibly stupid adult with a childish attitude.

care to PM me the fix, saves me having to peek through the files :)[DOUBLEPOST=1423944223][/DOUBLEPOST]

they ARE mixed in :) its literally luck of the draw with biomes loading.

don;t worry though: we're going to add biosamples as a resource rather than plantfibres, to a bunch of FF ground decoration. That will solve the issue.[DOUBLEPOST=1423944802][/DOUBLEPOST]
No, you were outright flaming me and everyone else here without presenting a log of the event in question as per the clearly written instructions on the overview page of the mod. You then insulted the entire fan-base for daring to try and help you, treating them like rancid bags of recycled shit for no reason other than your own frustration. I never said my code was perfect. I said it is running fine on my end, and that the issue you INSISTED was the problem is not the problem at all because the "missing" code exists in ALL versions of the published code. Thus it should not fail to find the item. Ergo, something was wrong on YOUR end.

No one treated you badly until you started treating them like shit. When you act like an arrogant dick to people for something that isn't their fault in the first place, do not expect kittens and puppies and smiles in return. You are honestly going to tell me you don't think this is your own fault for your initial reactions to peoples attempts to help you? You were hostile from the very start. They tried to be nice. You refused to allow that and basically pissed all over them and called them stupid.

And as for figuring out the problems on my own: That's what I do.

And again: Still no log file from you. And once again you insulted the entire fan-base for something you clearly are at fault for in this instance. When you present a log that shows otherwise, I'll gladly help you. Until that occurs you are basically up shits creek without a paddle. I cannot help you without a full log. As a "game designer yourself" , you should know this. So, where the hell is it? A good game designer would have STARTED with the log file.

Notice I am not flaming you, or insulting you directly, or otherwise treating you like shit for no reason? This next little bit will be justified entirely by your previous behavior:

I'm 35 years old. I work as a designer/coder. I've been at this sort of shit for a long, long time. Rest assured, I do my best to make the product as good as possible and as clean and efficient as possible. I'm a bit wacky, but I am a professional. You are not.

When some childish, jacked up teen-aged prick sitting on a computer in his mommies basement runs in here spewing vitriol at other people for trying to help him after he STARTS OFF by being a rude little shithead...and then get's mad at them for giving him the best help possible (when he can't even bother to read the fucking instructions on submitting bugs in the first place...) expects help... I try to help. Even though he's a complete asshole that doesn't deserve it.

And then you STILL don't post the log and insist on yet another inflammatory post. Which means you know fuck all about "game design", are totally inept or simply too daft to realize that it is entirely possible that this bug is not a bug at all, but a result of you not installing the mod right or a corrupt zip file that is missing data and would be solved by a simple redownload/reinstall.

Piss off. Get out of my thread. You aren't here to get help; You're here to troll and be a dick. Either treat people more nicely and present bugs in a less hostile manner, or don't come back.

Look at all the block types....I need bricks and stuff for building from this. You've been very busy since I last played!

And I'm obsessed with the penumbra biome. Now we need an ocean version with stuff from the deep abyssal regions of the oceans, complete with volcanic vents!

What the hell happened to "treating people the way you want to be treated"? I know that sometimes that the world we live in can be fucked up with all the horrible shit that happens but it doesn't need to be in here. There's absolutely no need for all the hostility, it's a fucking GAME. Random stuff can happen and things break all the time and you want to put all the blame just on one person? Really? You wonder why this "moronic fanbase" doesn't want to help you now? It's because you would rather point fingers and swear at us then actually asking nicely; "Please help, I have this bug. Here's my log of the possible problem". Sayter's not a magician, he's a human like the rest of us. At least he admits his mistakes and has done that through out the entire development of his mods. You want help? Follow the instructions, post the damn log and maybe, just maybe, someone can actually help you. If not, we don't want nor need your kind here. There are PLENTY of other mods that you can use, that's the beauty of variety being the spice of life.

    My opinions on this mod:
The codex books being craftable is a bit cumbersome, I kind of prefer a smoother UI without seeing pointless things. (once you craft them and use them, there's no point in them being in the crafting window... Maybe just put them in the player's inventory at the start?)
All in all, I prefer hi-tech things to be pushed back for higher tiers (The Matter Assembler.) And I like a UI that doesn't require me to scroll too far down to find things I need at the first tier of the game.
If you could fix these things, this mod would be pretty great. Thanks in advance if you're working on this.

Does anyone have or know any servers running with this mod? I'd like to play with some people but the friends I usually play with have lost interest after getting the best vanilla gear. They dont really seem to care about building and stuff like that,

  16. sayter

    sayter The Waste of Time

And if he wants to act like that, they won't want him either.

Plus he'd be depriving himself of this wonderful body of work I've assembled. I'm proud of it. It works well, rarely screws anyone over in any way and works with pretty much any mods out there.

And yep, my last post was verbose but I felt it was warranted. All he had to do was say "sorry, I was rude. Here's the log". But instead it became some bullshit rant :

"But no, even with the error, even with describing what steps were already taken to fix or work around whatever the mod did, even though I very much could present the log file I still have? As a game designer myself I honestly don't think it would do dick"

Soooooo.... he'd rather NOT present the error log that he says he has still (except that it refreshes every time you reset starbound, and I doubt he backed it up) ... he instead says , despite the fact that I ALWAYS look at log errors. ALWAYS. And if it's a mod issue I fix it..... that it won't make a difference and I'd not help him... while I am still clearly trying to help him and getting only hostility in return?

Hell, before I even had a chance to read the thread this morning it was almost a page long of him being a dick. He flamed people for trying to help him. No one was rude until he was. But you guys are all at fault. Clearly. HOW DARE YOU TRY TO HELP A FELLOW HUMAN BEING!!!! Because that makes sense.

    Some people suck, don't they?[DOUBLEPOST=1423949282][/DOUBLEPOST]
I've long wanted to do some custom UI but just haven't found time for it yet. There are tab buttons to organize content so you don't need to scroll so much. They exist to remove this visual clutter. The problem with clutter is that to get rid of it you need to make more stations. I do not need, or want, more stations. Six is plenty at the space most of them take up.

The tech tree will be revamped sooner than later, since I plan to add a ton more stuff. I've just got a new guy interested in helping with graphics for armors and creatures and such. Once I see some of his in-game product we'll see where we go from there. The main issue before was that there were 10 tiers to worry about. Now there are 6, so spacing weapons out has been far simpler.

The plants are far, far more challenging since you have to keep their buffs and general difficulty in crafting in mind. But we'll get there! I have more hands on deck now, which has made a dramatic difference.

as for the guidebooks, that's a coming change. I may use them to unlock the questlines for FF.

Just downloaded the new update(RC062), deleted my old FU folder, extracted new still has duplicate material id for swampdirtmaterial and swampdirtffmaterial. I know it is an easy fix with just having to delete one set of files, but it is kinda annoying to have to do that each time there is an update. any chance you can fix this over-site soon??

You could stop playing Unstable or wait for Sayter, et al, to change the swamp dirt to another itemname.

    *ahem* oversight.

And no, because that's from the unstable branch and FU is not designed for Unstable or Nightly , as per Mackinz :)

I wish they would hurry up and push it live, though. I want to see their swamp biome.

unless you mean the files themselves. If so, that should be rectified next release if it wasn't in this one. We renamed the files to swampdirtff last update, so it should no longer be there. If it is, it is due to a Git merge issue, and still shouldn't affect play since they are not in use.

why does everyone say it is from the unstable branch when it is in the download for Frackin' Universe, I download the file update(RC062) extract it to an unrelated folder look at the files and swampdirtffmaterial and swampdirtmaterial are both there, it has nothing to do with the unstable branch.
