Frackin' Flora - Adding more nature to Starbound.

Nothing to use in-game yet, but I have added this so that I have a place to show what exists thus far.

Once I have a few varieties beyond the first I will ready it for use in-game

v0.1 Release

This mod aims to add new plants to Starbound. The end goal is to have more trees and plants naturally spawning in different biomes to increase variety.

For now, it's simple. More to come later, as expected.

Thornitox Plants

Spiky, vile plants that give off a putrid odor. They are edible, but taste like crap. The upside is that they fill you up as much as a slab of alien meat.

You can craft seeds for the plants via plant fibres right now. That will change later once I learn how to make...

Thornitox Sword added (requires Tabula Rasa)

v0.3 - Thornitox Blade Added

Thornitox Sprouts can be eaten , but now can also be used to craft the Thornitox Blade. Additionally, Steel and Gold are required. This recipe will definitely change in the near future, since it makes absolutely no sense at present.

The blade ain't too shabby. Shoots out a nice puff of vile air.

New Plant Added!

The Capriole plant is viney, blue, and has a lovely white flower at the tip of the stalk. When eaten, you'll get a nice 30 second jump boost.

If that seems too generous, I could easily lower it to whatever works best.

v0.6 New Plant Added!

The Pasaka Vine has been added to the rank of plants. These weird, bulbed tentacle-things drop Pasaka Bulbs, which can be eaten. They will make you Glow for 5 minutes, helping in exploration a great deal early on.

They are larger than pretty much any farmed crop currently, and I'm trying to figure out how to nudge the art and placer from the manipulator. You'll see what I mean in-game. ImagePosition didnt seem to fix it. Will try again later. I wanted to share this with everyone to play with.

This teency-tiny update adds in the Uranium and Cerulium variants for the Thornitox blade, as well as re-statting them to be a bit more tier-appropriate. The recipes are also very slightly changed. They do a bit more damage than their ordinary weapon counterparts, for those curious.

MInor Update (v1.3)

Just some minor adjustments for playability. And a new plant.

- Added the Blister Bush. This big, ugly thing is useful for night travel.
- Reduced recipe costs even further
- Adaptive Cells and a few other recipes should now function properly.
- Perfectly Generic Items should now be gone from the recipe list requirements. Typos. Good times.
- Fixed a few output issues with items in the Extractor. (I have to really fine tune the extractor still. Enjoy the surplus materials until then)

That ones actually the most plentiful of the bunch. Dirt will do it, as will numerous other ground tiles. Still fine tuning how much to give for each item type when Extracted from. Tissue and Gene Material are harder to get than Paste by a landslide right now.

v1.4 Balance adjustments

- Increased yield of seeds made through gene engineering from 1 to 8.
(Getting a measly 1 seed after all that hard work was crappy. Sorry about that.
Now you get a full crop at a time. Which means not having to do all that crap over
again.)

- Adjusted Extraction gains across the board. Ground tiles now give far fewer rewards, while seeds and fruits and meats and so forth all gain a bit more.

v1.5 - Balance Adjustments, several fixes

- Ignus Chili and Shock Shroom have been completely reworked. Rather than eating them, you now throw them like a grenade
with the expected effect. Boomy fun time. Both are Level 3 weapons. Higher tier versions will be coming later on.

- Blister Bush crash bug fixed. I forgot to remove something in there. Oops.

- Blister Bush and Pasaka have both had their glow values modified. They will now provide substantially weaker glow effects,

Added 3 new plants.

- Lasher. This induces berserk rage when eaten.

- Hops, from the StarBooze mod (thanks, kingofcrows !). Note that without the Starbooze mod all you can do with the hops once harvested is to extract their raw materials. Until, of course, I add in the genetically modified version from crossbreeding later on.
