FPS drops with no apparent solution.

So before I start, I would just like to note that I know a lot of people have had issues with this, and that there are several posts made about random FPS drops already. The reason I am reposting this is because after having run the entire gauntlet of suggestions I found here, on the subreddit, and even on youtube, I see no improvement whatsoever, and the popular theory behind the problem doesn't seem to be my issue.

To be more specific, a lot of folks seem to think that steam's forcing you into a certain compatibility mode is what is causing the problem for a lot of people with high end PCs that shouldn't be having the issue (such as myself.) However, when I go to look at my launcher.exe, and go to the compatibility tab, it is NOT being forced into a compatibility mode. Everything is completely unchecked, and I have it set to run as administrator. I have taken my original starbound.exe out of the win32 folder, and changed the open_gl to starbound.exe, making sure none of them are being forced into compatibility mode, and all of them are set to run as administrator. No change. I've set options in my Nvidia settings to ensure threading is off, and V-sync is off. No change. I have updated all my drivers. I have set both priority and affinity to the suggested settings with no change. I have even gone to the indicated place in my registry to remove steams ability to force games into compatibility mode, but the registry file is NOT THERE, and there is NO indication that steam is forcing anything starbound related into a compatibility mode, and all of my settings are without compatibility mode enabled in any way.

I've even examined my computer's specs while running starbound and forcing it to lag, via one of the jump quests with the electricity. My GPU barely goes past 40, and my CPU sits at a comfortable 50-60% usage. I know this isn't my computer. And I really don't think this is steam's compatibility mode, because none of the suggestions given have done a single thing for me.

And yet I suffer from the same issue. I can walk around on the surface just fine, and my ship has a campfire in it, which causes a tiny bit of lag, but other than that I am lag free on the ship. The SECOND anything, a monster, a tree, a plant, comes onto my screen, I am hit with lag. If it's two monsters, or two trees, it drops significantly, and in places like dungeons where there are a lot of things going on, the game becomes completely unplayable, and I have to close the game and re-open it.

I am aware this is a beta, and I may very well have to wait a week or so to see this fixed for the people that cannot be helped with the solutions already being given. I just wanted people to know that the steam compatibility issues are NOT the only things causing issues here, so we can eventually find a solution that helps everyone. Thank you for reading.
