So I tried to open a server using hamachi but the game gave connection error to my friend, so I searched online and found a way to portforward from windows not the router.
http://www.wikihow.com/Open-Ports This is for win XP/7 (for win 7 you need to scroll down a bit) in stage 6 for win 7 enter 21025 in the 'specific local ports' and for win XP at stage 7 enter 21025 in 'Port Number', and in Starbound folder search for starbound.config(not in assets folder, in the folder where assets folder is in) change the uPnPPortforwarding to false.
Tried it and its works fine for me, but I still need to use hamachi.
If you're using hamachi and you get this error try this link and hopefully it will work for you ;)

Hmmm, Same problem? if so try to go to 'Inbound Rules' Then search for starbound_server there should be 4 of them make sure all of them are allowed.

Should my server be running while doing this? and should those ports already be there or do you have to make them because i dont have those in my firewall?

The server shouldn't be running.. you don't have starbound_server? Hmmm honestly idk they were there when I first tried..

Essentially the whole purpose of Hamachi is so that you don't have to port forward. By port forwarding with Hamachi you are basically someone who wants a car so they buy a boat and put tires on it.

Yay, it worked for me. Thanks!

EDIT: Only on my PC though. Couldn't get it to work on my laptop, don't know why.

You're right but when I tried to just use Hamachi my friends got connection error.. So I didn't know what to do, because as you said the whole purpose of Hamachi is that you win't need to port-forward..
So I searched for a way to make it work and this tutorial helped me..

Glad it worked, and about the laptop, sorry I really don't know ^^".
