yes moderators this isnt very starbound related, please dont move this to another forum as it doesnt have the same community issue
I've noticed the people "looking for a challenge" only end up taunting those who are having trouble in the start, and may harm gameplay for the less skilled players.

I appreciate thoughtful debate, but this is devolving into a cat fight.
I appreciate a challenging game, but you have to learn the fine line between "challenging" and "tedious".
Do you want to grind? Play a MMORPG.
Do you want hellish difficulty? Go play something like Dark Souls.

Feel free to protect a harder feature of the game.
But please, for the love of Tiyuri, do not try to protect a bug that obviously messes up the game.

I actually like that coal isn't a dime a dozen. It does need to be a bit more frequent, but I feel much more in tune with the planets I go to now because I'm not just surface hopping anymore, and there are actually interesting things beneath the surface of the planet btw.

 

I agree that the super hardcore mentality going around is toxic, but threads like these usually devolve into the thing they're talking against :S

 

Your argument makes sense. I was talking about the people who protect the rarity as if they wanted to use up 10 torches in a cave to craft 2.
