FortKnite's Custom LiteBrite Mod Beta 1.0

I have created a custom flare mod for Starbound. Took me all night, but I would like to share it with the community. I have lots more planned in the way of mods for Starbound, but this is my 1st mod ever! So I hope you enjoy!

This is a video I created to show off my Mod:




All assets for LiteBriteMod1.0 are in the "Flares" Folder:

Step 1: Go to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\items\throwables]

Delete "flareicon.png" file and replace with all files in the "Items_throwable" Folder.


Step 2: Go to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\projectiles\throwable\flare]

Delete "flare.frames" + "flare.png" and copy all files in "projectile_throwable_flare" folder


Step 3: Go to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\quests\tutorial]

Copy "glitchtutorial" into folder (make sure to make a backup of your ORIGINAL file)



**PLEASE NOTE** If you are going to add V1.1 (Flashlights as well, skip to 1.1 steps before continuing to these steps!!!)

Step 4: Create new GLITCH character in Starbound, complete 1st quest and Voila!


Step 5: Copy "Glitchtutorial" backup back into folder.

**LiteBriteMod1.1** [added Custom color flashlights]

To add Custom Flashlights just copy contents of "Flashlights"> "tools" into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\assets\items\tools

Make sure to select "Copy and Replace", I have made some tweaks to the stock flashlights (yellow,red,green,white) which make them brighter and wider beam.

I've actually never modded a game before. I just decided that I wanted to see if I could make flares blue and a purple flashlight. The rest is history!

I'm hoping to also make custom torches/lanterns/fires (including animations) in the near future, so check back when I update.
