Fooling enemies with dirt

So earlier I happened across an avian temple on a planet several levels above mine. I kept running into a guard whose gun killed me in about three hits (which is of course to be expected considering the level difference).

But rather than giving up, I decided to block the temple entrance with a wall of dirt, scaled the building and then dug into it from the side. Then I continued to place dirt walls everywhere, boxing enemies in and cheap-shotting them through the walls. It was kind of fun in a stupid way, but also really silly, not to mention very cheap.

What I am curious about is how this cheap strategy could be addressed. Like, should the placement of blocks be disabled in dungeon-type environments (personally I hope not)? Or should enemies be able to remove blocks you place on their turf? If they see a player-placed wall, should they be able to guess you are hiding behind it and start digging through to get to you? Should something else be done entirely? Or maybe nothing at all? I'd like to hear some opinions regarding this.

Please note I am not expecting this to be addressed in this early stage of the beta. This is just a potential thing for the future.

majority of the dungeons/npc villages etc will have unbreakable blocks so you cannot mess abotu with it

I have been guilty of this. How else are you supposed to deal with gunslinging NPCs?

They deal huge amounts of damage and knockback, making it almost impossible for you to get close to them before dying. Guns should be nerfed and enemies with guns should only be allowed to walk.

Shields have worked well for me against guns. Provided said shield is of a comparable level to the enemy level. It should also be possible to dodge some of the projectiles, even with shield raised.

It never really occurred to me to use a shield. I will try swapping out my bow for a shield the next time I do a dungeon.

I still think that guns should be nerfed though.

I dunno, personally I think it's fine as is, if you take the effort to do all that, why not have your cake. Though, speaking of cake, I do wish the apex laboratory testing chambers weren't breakable for players getting to the chest at end. If it's breaking to bypass the area itself, it seems eh.. if it's to get the best of an enemy, I'm all for it.
