Focus on a release date, then on more content in updates

We really need to go grab a time machine and just time travel a month at a time until Starbound comes out. Or, even better, get a copy, bring it back here, and give it to Chucklefish. Who's with me?

I'd rather the game come out in 2 months and be awesome, then come out say today and be clunky.

 

Let's just wait and play fun games like Tribes: Ascend, of course T:A will go on a short hiatus once SB comes out.

I agree that they should focus on working towards release and add in extra content later (hell I wouldn't even mind paying for DLC packs if they wanted to do that), but at the same time, the edit in the first post sounds kinda... dunno? I think this is more appropriate for general discussion than feedback, myself. I don't think the mods are trying to censor you, dude.

Chucklefish got my uttermost respect by adopting and keeping to the line they chose. As far as I know only one other company uses this "Done when it's done" phylosophy. Guess which one it is? I hope that people, who are voting for releasing the game as soon as possible won't question success of that company )

 

I'd have to guess Blizzard, seeing as just how long it takes them to put a game out, but if that's the company, while they are successful, they are so bad at having games balanced on release. =p

i just wanted to throw in my thoughts, at first i was as eager as anyone to get my hands on a copy but now having had a little time to think on it i really want the game they want to release not some cut down version as then id be getting dribbles of extra stuff and i really want to experiance it as they want me to.

tl:dr they can take as long as they want i can wait for them i trust the devs and will be even more blown away to experiance it all at once

 

I'd rather be confident that the game will even come out in 2 months. That's the problem here.

 

From what I gather, the game is very close to being finished. I have no fear of it not being released.

 

I think that a 2-3 month release is very likely. Release dates are bad because it limits the amount of cool stuff in the game.

Ok, if I got that right, your main concern is that the game isn't released at all, right? Well, rest assured, that is not going to happen. The game being postponed only means that the devs want to gave customers a finished well polished game. I have been following Chucklefish's work closely, I would say, this is not just some videos being released, they have given tons of screenshots, we have even watched Tiy play the game, along with Legris and George. If you are thinking about stuff like "Card Sagas Wars" or something, well, this is different, the guys making that game haven't been in touch with their fanbase at all (even then, I don't think that game becomes vaporware), Chucklefish has been interacting with all of us from the very beginning.

So I'd advise to park worries aside and just enjoy some games in the meanwhile . I am going to keep playing my NWN 2 campaign on my fiancee's computer .
