Now I know that people have already suggested this but I really think there should be a way to fix your broken race-specific sword. It could have special powers like say the hylotl sword could spawn a wave in that knocks mobs back (not players) and would do a lot of damage. They would have to be fixed using a very high tier metal. I hope this is implemented and Thank you for reading.

Can't have a broken weapon with a legendary-sounding name without being able to fix it.

This sounds like a great idea to implement. I'd love to have a fixed Legendary Sword.

I think that sounds great in the beginning but the idea of fixing your sword in a late stage of the game has some problems. The major problem with this is that many people would not know they could fix their sword at a later stage of the game and just throw the starter sword away. When they discover they could have fixed it, they would just feel terrible. If you would prevent this throwing away you would take the focus away from finding legendary weapons and put the focus on your legendary sword. Why search for them if you could just repair your sword and use this. And every player would have the same legendary sword in the end which would be kind of boring as well.

There could be a note in the description saying "I must find a way to fix this..." or something along those lines so that you wouldn't throw it away.

What if instead of fixing the sword straight into some legendary form late into the game, you fixed your sword and upgraded it as you gain materials. It offers a different solution to becoming stronger for people that prefer to upgrade something rather than completly replace it.

Another option then becomes different ways to upgrade it resulting in altered end forms, making the starting weapon more unique when reaching that end stage. Possibly based on how you use your weapon as well. Missing alot with attacks could build up a secret xp bar that works towards a slimmer faster sword so that instead of always missing you have a higher chance to hit your target. While someone who carefully attacks and hits on every strike would get a more powerful sword. If someone used the sword to block then it would gain improved blocking capabilities. This means that the starting broken weapon also shows off what kind of fighting style the person has. Obviously it becomes alot more complicated like this but that can also keep things interesting. Still I suppose the simplier things are more likely to be accepted than the more complicated ones.

The concept of a more progressive upgrading that branches into different qualities is actually not bad of an idea. It sure keeps the late-game from consisting of everyone using the very same swords.

To make things even a bit more complicated they could allow the sword to wind up changing forms during the process. Always imagined playing a space mage? well then if you focused on making use of your energy to perform attacks you could upgrade your boring old sword into a super fancy staff! or at least a regular fancy staff. Obviously trying to find a balance between everything would be important..... I suppose.
Preferred the idea of using gauntlets well for those speed maniacs that focused on improving their swing speed (simple to do if you simply swing your weapon around in the air like you were actually training) then one upgrade would allow for gauntlets.

Even if the point of these upgrades to change that boring old starting weapon into something properly capable and still suited your style of gameplay. People would make guides and list the different ways to upgrade your weapon. Which in turn means people really can't complain if they wanted a specific final weapon form because they can just go look at a guide.

I think the floran sword should create a wall of vines that poison anything that walks into it. vine wall lasts 2.5 secs.

Isn't this already in Nightly? One of the NPCs that come from one of the missions says that he was taught by another NPC to "fix broken protectorate weapons".

Well, I junked mine and I no longer have it and I don't know how to spawn another so I can't test it.

I've not tested it, but looking at the wiki for additions made by the nightly right now, there is a new "Protector's Broadsword" which seems to be acquired through the npc you speak of if you kept your original broken broadsword.

Iirc what's is seen it's stats seemed to be very decent even if it's alt was a "regular" rising slash if I recall well the entry.

Well glad to know it can be repaired.
Sorry for this next part being off topic as I haven't seen anything else mentioning it.... but has anyone else managed to get the Erchius Eyeball? giant eyeball as a two handed weapon to shoot out a short laser? IT FREAKING SWEET!
Not sure if everyone gets it or if its actually really rare.

It'd be nice if it was a rare drop, that way there is a real incentive to go back and repeat missions.
If it's a one-of-a-kind item from the chest at the end of the mission, I'd hate to be 'that guy' among my friends that takes it.

I got it as a drop from the beast itself. As an object, its really cool since you carry around a giant eyeball that still seems to throb with life. I imagine that you squeeze it to shoot the laser.... while somehow consuming energy to do so. The laser is a constant stream of about a rather short range that aims like a gun. The damage doesn't seem too impressive but it can hit mutliple enemies at once.

Thus as a weapon its pretty average so far but maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance. I'm hoping since they added mannequins that they will add in something to display weapons with.... or possibly just something to display objects in general on. That way I can display my lovely giant eye.... another thought is that it would be cool to put into a turret that could then shoot a laser.

Justbe aware the new protector blade means that "racial broken weapons" are gone since new weapons are "generics" that have been retooled to the new combat system.

Otoh, making it a protector's blade helps grounding the character even more as one of the few surviror if the Terrence protectorate.

Yup, I just created a new character, and that guy does indeed offer to fix the sword for 10 tech cards. It appears to be slightly better than the Violium+Solarium weapons or roughly equal to. Not sure which. It kinda looks like a 2h lightsaber.
