Bug/Issue Fishing did not tell me I caught a record fish but the number was bigger?

I'm playing Stardew Valley v1.1 installed through Steam on OSX Yosemite v. 10.10.5 on a MacBook Air.


It's running in full screen. I set tool use controls to space bar to fish. I use keyboard and track pad controls.

Fishing outside Lennah's house south of Marnie's ranch.
Caught two Breams in a row, was told it is a "Record" at 17 in. then the second one was 18 in. but the "Record" words did not pop up again. There was a star in the picture of the fish in inventory both times.

If I made a spreadsheet to track this, what should the columns be I wonder?
