Fishing bait worth it?

It's one of the bundle rewards, iirc? Maybe for one of the fishing bundles? It could be one of the bulletin board ones as well, though...

 

Either way it is still not a 1:1 ratio of bait to fish. Like Caudyr said it seems to be partially luck based. I'm lvl 10 fishing with bait almost always attached to my pole (whenever I run out I spend half a day killing bugs and get a couple hundred bait to hold me over) and on bad luck days I'll still catch a ton of trash. But not as much as I would get if I had no bait.

 

I think Dodging Rain is right. You get the recipe at lvl 8 fishing but I don't think you get a free one.

 

Your lucky and skill does make a difference on the fishing.

 

Could've sworn I got one, myself...but Dodging Rain probably IS right, and I'm thinking of something else, heh.

It's possible it's an artifact reward, I guess...but...yeah, there isn't any mention of it being a reward of any sort on the Wiki as well...so...yeah, that's probably the case.
