First Gameplay Footage!

You should have a (very) toned down version of that in the game as a gag tool...

I dunno if anyone's properly dissected the video yet, so I'll have a go...

-It looks like you can quickly swap weapons/items into different hands with key presses (no mouse used in the video) or perhaps it's just hotkeys.
-Pick axe/mining tool in third slot, probably what he used to clear out the cave to avoid showing us too much
-Tiles: at about 25 seconds in, we can see some rock-like things that allow light to seep through the cracks. They look like the same type but they don't seem to blend with each other?
-Obviously, the absolutely kick-ass lighting.

Someone's probably done one of these before

really glad that we have flashlights in this. not having flashlights in terraria was kinda frustrating

 

AMAZING lighting, although one thing really bothered me, the animations. they were awesomely smooth, but were wrong. when we move if our right arm is out front our left leg is out front, left arm front right leg front, opposites basically. in the video same side arms and legs were moving in the same direction, which as a animator myself makes me CRINGE. i hope this is fixed, i didnt see this problem in tiys animated spritesheet on twitter.

anyways, i expect this game to suck away all my time without me realizing it, just like terraria. terraria remains my most played steam game, more than skyrim, witcher 2, and borderlands, put together. after going through the forums and reading all the info about this game so far, my body, my life, is not ready.

The music somewhat reminded me of Terraria. I think while the lighting is impressive, the fluid movement is equally impressive, and I think it's a nice step in the right direction from where Terraria left off.

So. Much. HYPE.

This makes me feel a little better, but man, not even terraria is working well, i shall expect the same for starbound.

 

Well, there go my concerns about running the game on my sister's laptop (which tended to turn yellowish when playing Terraria...). So I guess.

My God, this video footage of this magnificent game is formidable, I could cry with such beautiful creation, but instead, I will ask for quietude, and then start throwing my currency at the computer monitor. Oh, I only had coins, apparently, when I throw coins at a monitor, physics laws do their magic, and the monitor breaks, I shall move to a bank and throw the coins at there if this is the case.
