The very first "game" I ever played was a Dutch drawing game called "Redcat's Levende Kleurboek", or "Redcat's Living Colouring Book" in English. It basically mixed a sort of short animated introductory videos with colouring pages that represented the videos. You could also make your own colouring pages by basically taking pre-made outlines and placing them on the screen. Good fun - I spent a lot of time playing that, making nothing whatsoever. Unless you meant games that actually involved a form of playing. My first one was a really obscure puzzle game I really want to find again, but I don't remember the name, nor where the discs are at in our house. For games people generally know: It's my favourite PS1 game, Red Alert Retaliation. I spent a loooooooooot of time playing that - but I rarely ever won.
Yes, Duck Hunt was addictive and shooting at screen was quite enjoyable. I think I have the lightgun here somewhere.
My first game was either Halo:combat evolved or Tony Hawks pro skater four. They were on the original Xbox and I thought they were amazing at the time.
You guys are mostly young'uns. I don't remember the exact first game I've ever played, but I do know it was on the Atari2600. It was probably Asteroids, but I don't know for sure.
Some sort of Sesame Street game on the OG Gameboy, back when I was like 3...then I moved on to a cheap Star Wars licensed game, and Pokémon Yellow soon after.
Mine was Yoshi's Story on the Nintendo 64 at... idk, maybe 3 or 4 years old? I tried to play Mario 64, but Bowser scared me... What's really sad is that I sucked so bad at Yoshi's Story that I could only keep replaying the same first few levels lol
Super Mario Land for the original Gameboy. It belonged to my cousin but I played it every chance I got.
A ton of edutainment CD games, that's all my dad bought me when I was old enough to play on 3.1 (we had no consoles whatsoever and still haven't), Among them most of the Magic School Bus game CDs, 3D Dinosaur Adventure, Mr. Potato Head, Barbie Ocean Discovery and then some. If you're asking for the 'game' games then I have a copy of The Sims around 6 and Pokemon Crystal from an aunt's GBA. Became big fan of both franchises eventually.
