You can only find certain types of secondaries with common guns. Ricochet bullets and explosive rounds among them. However, I found mine on a higher level planet, and has pretty much lasted to endgame. (This was in nightly btw. Though the assets are still there in 1.0)
I got back into the game recently and I've fallen back in love with it. This is because the quest hub is pretty much non-existent now because the Outpost essentially acts as a tutorial that helps you unlock your ships functionality. The only quests you get from that place outside of that are the quests on the main questline.
