do fences not last forever? i saw that some wood fence suddnely colapsed... is there a chart so i can see which kind of fence last longer.. Hardwood maybe?
Fences don't last forever, the order from weakest to strongest is Wood, Stone, Iron and Hardwood. Hardwood will stay standing for the longest but it will also eventually start to break. If you have a wife or husband, there's the chance that they will fix broken fences for you, otherwise you'll have to fix them yourself.
The game outright says hardwood is the strongest fence, even though that just sounds silly. Also kinda sad, as fences coulda made a decent decoration for your farm, like that "famous" pic on SDV's front page... I shudder when I imagine the upkeep that farm has to go through.. ugh. Fences everywhere and few of them are hardwood.
There's a lot of people who're on the fence about the way they currently degrade, as it makes fairly little sense and is mostly an annoyance for a primarly aesthetic item. Might get changed, might not.
I guess he did use hardwood fences for the animal enclosures, but I also see stone etc elsewhere. I C WAT U DID THEIR (I can't lie, that was a perfect pun situation...)
Yeah, wives/husbands do a few things. Sometimes they'll water your crops, feed your animals, cook you breakfast or repair broken fences. They don't do them everyday but sometimes.
From my experiences it appears to be once in every 6-8 days which is a bit underwhelming. Breakfast... I got breakfast from Harvey twice during the Spring, and I haven't yet during Summer and I'm almost halfway through Summer.
I've had the Animals fed/Fences fixed thing happen one after another. I'm pretty sure it's random, the breakfast seems the rarest to me and I've never seen the crops watered one.
Yeah, it's entirely random, but with rather low chance. But anybody who has ever touched a d20 system knows that rolling two 20s in a row can happen, lol.
I've had people tell me you don't have to destroy the fence to repair it, you can just throw the material at it to repair it a la the tools in Starbound. (You can "use" a piece of hardwood on a degrading hardwood fence to repair it, etc)
