hey kawa, any plans on making side quests and new weapons or anything else after 1.0? Felins don't see an update in a while and, with FrackinUniverse, its the 'must-have' mod for me , even made friends install to it so we can play together =p
Kawa is almost certainly going to update the Felins for 1.0. Whether or not that update will include new quests or weapons is up to him.
i know how active you are and i doubt that you would let your mod unupdated, so i was more asking if you plan to include anything new on it. but thanks for the fast response both of you~ ah, also thanks for the amazing mod Kawa ;p
So I came across a Felin village for the first time yesterday (and one today too, lol). I must say I like how you made it so that those cardboard boxes have lots of MM Module Components and Upgrade Modules. Two Felin villages + first two tiers of outpost quests gave me enough MM Modules to nearly max my MM out. And the villages themselves looked cool. I was playing an Avali at the time, and I was surprised to see the cross-mod integration... something I really like, where Felins were commenting on me being an Avali and my Avali actually seeing and understanding Felin-specific objects and having flavor text. It's all surprisingly well-done! (also drooling over that Frackin'Universe Metal Moon with the HUGE Avali block dump, lol)
Ah but you see I never put those modules in there! The boxes use a vanilla treasurepool that now happens to include them, is all. So in a way CF put them in there. Also your avali is probably just quoting the default object descriptions.
Well, yeah I know they work on treasure pools, it just seems like you picked ones that commonly drop those modules, unlike some other race mods (who only give pixels or nothing in most of their containers in their villages). And really? Some of those descriptions sound like something an Avali in particular would say. huh. could just be me imagining things.
Trust me, when I picked the treasurepools for those boxes there was no such thing as a matter manipulator upgrade module, and the only avali lines in the mod are NPC chatter.
There is a small conflict with the GLaDOS AI mod where it overwrites the Felin's SAIL name with GLaDOS. ( http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/glados-ship-ai-for-human.3153/ ) Could this be because the Felins mod still uses a part of the human AI code as a template?
Does it? I do try to keep things up to date but I really wouldn't know about a given random other mod's interactions. But if it's not a breaking conflict I really couldn't care much less. Looking closer, now that I'm not in bed, I see that GlaDOS only replaces the human AI data. The so-called conflict is that it also changes the window title, which applies to all species. So if you were to play any species other than human, you'd get the same effect. There's no mod conflict here, only a Portal fan who didn't think things through quite well enough.
Yay get to play as felines now sadly its gunna take AGES to get from planet to planet looking for feline's to "borrow" their furniture for my own personaly uses xD
@Campy: felin villages are set up to appear on forest, jungle, and savannah planetTypes. So don't bother looking on, for example, desert planets.
Played with the mod for the first time in a while, and I noticed that a couple of the armors don't seem to quite follow the overall theme. Where tier 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 Separator armors come in pairs, tier 5/6 Accelerator and Manipulator armors seem a little mixed up. It looks sort of like the tier 6 Accelerator armor sprites should be swapped with the tier 5 Manipulator sprites.
