Bosses are possibly my favorite part of any videogame and I won't list the reasons here; I'm kind of surprised this thread hasn't come up yet! (or if it has, apologies in advance)

Which one is your favorite boss, as of now that tier 4 is the last complete tier, and why?

Optional topic of discussion: least favorite boss and why without needless arguing.

For me it's the fourth boss, the Jelly. I'd say to me it was the most fun to fight against, probably because I was fighting it on a flat surface and needed to backpedal, shoot, dodge all those jelly projectiles traveling in an arc, get rid of the two side jelly eyes etc.. That kept me busy! I also think it looks... cute.

I wouldn't say it was the most challenging out of the four, but 1) pretty close 2) the most "challenging" was the dragon to me and that's because its hitboxes were incredibly confusing.

Incidentally, the dragon is also my least favorite boss because the fight was either too hard because of the aformentioned reason (therefore not a "real" difficulty), or too easy once you find the right spot (or once you find out that building one million turrets and waiting for it to die works just as well, but that and getting bosses stuck somewhere can be said of all of them so not much of a point, that's just the only boss I happened to use such strategies against). It also doesn't look very sci-fi but you probably heard that one thousand times already.

    Your turn! :V

Penguin UFO, because it is the only boss that can actually destroy terrain. The other bosses were stupidly easy because I was able to hide inside a small garden shed and shoot arrows out and they couldn't do squat about it.

I hope there are big changes coming to the bosses, though. Terraria bosses were way better I think in part because they moved through terrain, which kept you constantly moving and dodging. There were ways to manipulate terrain to your advantage, sure, but it was a lot more complicated than just 'build a 6x6 cube with a hole peeking out.'

True, but I think that also applies to the UFO. I once beat it by entering one of those isolated glitch houses and it couldn't enter/get past the blocks right next to it, so I'm guessing its block breaking ability is limited(?).

I like the ufo because he can destroy blocks, summon an army and his craft item is cheap so you can summon lots of him easily. I just wish he wasn't nerfed so bad that you can beat him naked with a wooden bow. One game I got a legendary gun with 40 damage (tier 1 gun) and I just stayed there taking the hits without healing until it fell.

Worst is the robot. His spawn requirement is the worst in the game, It makes no sense you create the processor and don't use it yourself first. That you have the tech to craft a brain removing gun, but no other guns. An you do all this before your able to wire or have anything automated. The bot also derps around at times, I've summoned him in villages and he can take forever to attack people. He's also the easiest boss to box in. Also why is is something made of steel gold colored?

Dragon can 1 hit people before they can react to the burning after effect, but is otherwise okay, EXCEPT that for the boss with the most destructive looking attack in the game, it can't break even soft blocks.

Very limited. I've beaten it by hiding in shallow caverns. Which makes him not a very challenging boss... but still more challenging than the others, because they can't break anything.

The robot is the only thing that isn't absurdly silly and seems to fit the universe. The dynamic of harvesting brains was interesting, but not as deep as it could have been (with the quality of the brain being totally random instead of being fixed to certain monster types).

I don't think it should have been craftable so early in the progression, but what's to be done about it now?

Being that's its gold colored and next tier you get the wiring station and that has those red eyes. I almost feel like it was ment to be a higher tier. But I still think it would make WAYYY more sense if you built a portal or radio tower or something. Because why build an entire car when you just need the hubcap? But if it came from somewhere else then it might have tech you don't have.

all the bosses were ridiculously easy to destroy. i didnt use a cage or turrets. just a simple, tiny hole in the ground was enough. i believe they are going to be restructured in the future to make this tactic unviable but as of now, none of them were my favorite because of this.

To me, it was the most silly. I can get behind space penguins that are actually an alien race, a reanimated dragon maybe through technology we don't know anything about, and a monster that is plausible in-universe... but building a robot with little to no circuitry that then drops another circuit you never ever put in there just ruined it for me, plus it's possibly the one that acts in the stupidest way gameplay-wise, it's pretty much the AI of a regular mob (ironically, since it has the brain of one!).

But can he read into your mind AND memory card? Can he?

ill just say what I think about each boss
first boss: to me its just a stepping stone for progression, your just firing your bow (gun if lucky) at a ship less then the size of yours and fighting off his army
second boss: I liked this one, for me its an actually proper hand to hand combat battle with blocking and counter attacking him, definitely my favorite
third boss: very similar to the first boss, only you cant really get hit
fourth boss: a good fight for melee, other wise just shooting again, my least favorite
most of my logic is likely based off the fact I normally go melee instead of ranged in games (I cant aim...) and that I find melee more fun and interesting, and not just hiding behind [Enter form of cover here].
    again, thats just me

Least favorite... umm... can't really say since I never fought the jelly boss yet, so that wouldn't be really fair to answer that one...

I'd have to say Dreadwing currently. The main reason being that the other bosses, as far as I can tell, aren't even finished:
    1. Dreadwing has the most interesting attacks/strategies. The other bosses use what seems to be recycled/edited monster-moves.
    2. Dreadwing is the only boss with a proper death animation so far.

Assuming you actually fight and don't just hide in a hole, the robot is pretty cool. Nice and tough, fairly nimble, almost feels like an equal fight. Overall a good fight. And anyone confused about destroying the robot for the processor, I just assumed that you designed it to optimize the processor for space flight, since doing it by hand would take eons. Maybe?

Least favorite is the jelly. After the difficulty of the dragon, I was expecting, oh I don't know, a challenge. Maybe it was just my gear at the time stun-locked him, or maybe he got stuck on something frequently, but it seemed the jelly couldn't really fight at all, more just sat there and took its beating. The minis were more dangerous than the guy himself.
