Hi, I was surprised to see there are still no fan fictions made, especially when the Fan Works section states: "Fan art, fan fiction, etc.". So although I'm probably bad at it, I decided to take a shot at being the first one. So here we go:
    AWOKEN

    Chapter 1: The Crash

Panicked, Joshua grabbed his emergency bag off the wall and dashed out the door of his cabin. Everyone else seemed to be gone already, and the sirens were blaring in his ears. The escape pods were nearby, just a little further! He came to the ladder and quickly climbed his way up, leaping off when he came to the next floor. He nearly slipped backward when he landed, because the bag was unbelievably heavy, but he managed to keep his balance. He glanced at a nearby door marked, "Escape Pods". In there! He thought to himself.
The door was open slightly and he swung it the rest of the way, then paused in disbelief.
All of the escape pods... They're gone! Joshua's eyes darted around, until finally he spotted one final, unused pod up at the top. Suddenly a large explosion came from somewhere in the ship, and the secondary siren to alert they were nearing an unknown planet's atmosphere screeched on. Quickly, Joshua climbed the stairs to the top row and dived into the escape pod. He slammed the button to take off, and the escape pod door slid shut.
The pod thrust itself away from the ship, and Joshua fell backward onto the floor. He looked behind him. There were multiple empty seats, each with their own small storage space, so he strapped himself into the leftmost one as the pod rocked and jumped back and forth. Taking a minute to calm down, Joshua opened his emergency bag. He couldn't think straight right now, so it came as no surprise that he forgot what was even in it. A month's worth of food rations and waterskins, a solar-powered medical drone, oxygen tanks, a set of guns, ammo, and plenty of other weapons.
Joshua sighed. Why didn't they just put this stuff in the escape pod? There was no good reason for me to have had to haul this here. He closed his eyes for a minute. What happened? Was the ship attacked by pirates? Who would've wanted to crash the U.E.S. Contact Light, anyway? It was just a delivery ship, and if someone wanted what was on board, wouldn't simply robbing the ship be more effective and productive? His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by an alert.
"WARNING, the pod has entered an unknown planet's atmosphere. All passengers brace for impact in 15 seconds," It warned.
Joshua swore. He thought he understood now. If whoever, or whatever, wanted the cargo was on this planet, it could take it all now. There's no doubt plenty of the cargo fell out of the ship, not to mention the escape pods were easy targets for missiles. Anyone who managed to get to the escape pods, which it seemed most people did, could easily be taken out now. "Including me..." He gulped. But another alert startled Joshua.
"5 seconds to impact..." Joshua gathered his thoughts, and quickly checked to make sure his oxygen levels were full.
"4..." He turned on the suit, since this planet may not have oxygen.
"3..." Joshua zipped the bag back up and stuck it in the small storage space.
"2..." He closed the storage, and turned to face the front of the pod.
"1..." Joshua took a deep breath. Then closed his eyes and braced for the pod to hit the surface.

    Chapter 2: The Box

The pod clanked on something, making a loud snapping noise, then came to an abrupt halt. The loud noise of the pod coming in contact with the ground rang out, no doubt alerting anyone who was nearby. Joshua undid his straps and grabbed his bag. He stepped up to the door and pressed the button, and the door slid open. Stepping out of the pod, he found himself in a small hole in the ground. Above him was a bridge, with a break in it where the pod must have crashed through... He checked for a way up, and found a ladder on the other side of his pod. He walked over and carefully made his way up, checking the ladder for traps.
Maybe there were a bunch of these holes everywhere, and that the pods were supposed to fall in, and then whoever was inside would be killed by a trap! But no, the ladder was safe, and he found himself in some sort of larger hole in the ground, with plenty of bridges all over the place. Not to mention signs that there was once water. Joshua checked his immediate surroundings, and found two more ladders, as well as a box from the cargo ship.
He walked up to it and attempted to open it. Maybe it would have more food or something. Instead, it denied him. What the... How do I open this thing? It did have a lock on it, but it only seemed that it would work with some sort of keycard. Maybe there's something in my bag? I'm not sure, but wouldn't it be useful if they gave the crew a way to open the cargo boxes in a case like this? Nothing, except he noticed there was also $15 in it. Money? Yeah, maybe I'll buy some fast food while I'm stranded on an uncharted planet...
Joshua pulled out his medical drone, though. Maybe it can keep me company. He checked to see if there was an on button, and was unable to find one, until he remembered it was solar powered. He opened a compartment on top of it, which contained the solar panel, and left it in a spot where the sun's rays would be able to get to it. In the mean time, he started trying everything he could to open the box. Pick the lock? No, didn't have the tools, not to mention it used a keycard. Smash it open? Well, his bag contained a hammer, but the box was too sturdy. Instructions on the bottom? Hey, look! There was something on the bottom! But... It must of been burnt off when entering the atmosphere, because the only readable thing was, "key". Joshua finally gave up.
This thing would drive him crazy. He sighed and looked at the drone... Still charging... Maybe when it finished charging, it could tell him what to do! No... Joshua realized. That box won't drive me crazy... I am crazy... Joshua sat down next to the box, and looked into the sky. Rescue will come, right? There must have been a lot of important stuff on board. The Contact Light had a lot of cargo, at least one thing had to be important enough for rescue to come... Does anyone even know that the ship crashed, though?
Thoughts swirled in his mind, and it gave him a headache. He looked back down, and realized the drone was powering on. Maybe the drone would be helpful. He could talk to it, maybe it would actually be able to hear him. He had no clue how these drones worked, he had never used one. Standing up, Joshua walked to the drone as its compartment closed, and it began to float.

    Chapter 3: Weapons

The drone was now hovering above Joshua, and just sort of looked at him with its... "Eye".
"Umm... Hi?" Joshua said, hoping for a response, but it just looked at him. Suddenly, it turned, and its eye flashed red, as if alerting Joshua, and he quickly looked around, trying to find what it was, then he saw it. It stared at him, as he reached for his bag to take a weapon, any weapon, because this...
Thing, could be dangerous. It was humanoid, he'd give it that, but it wasn't human. It was scaly, purple, and its eyes slightly seemed to bulge out. It eyed him for a few seconds, then began to walk toward him. Joshua backed away, the drone seemed to think it was dangerous, so maybe he should just- *WHAM*.
Without even trying to, he pulled a hammer out of his bag and whacked the creature. It was taken aback, and nearly fell over, Joshua quickly realized what he had just done.
"Ah! I... I'm sorry!" He yelped. Now he was apologizing, and he still didn't even know whether or not this thing was hostile... But either way, it probably wouldn't like Joshua now. It looked up at him, and screeched. Suddenly, more of the things began to appear, Joshua couldn't even tell where from. Then, the earth in front of him smashed and molded itself together and formed an golem made of stone, eight feet tall. Joshua realized that the drone was spinning in circles, its eye flashing red probably six times a second. Joshua looked at the hammer in his hand. He threw it on the ground and looked back up at the huge golem.
"I'm sorry! I won't hurt any of you again!" Joshua nearly yelled. But they all just looked at him, the lizardy creatures hissing at him, and the golem beginning to walk toward him. Joshua turned his head to look behind him, and saw even more of the lizard creatures. He realized that there was no way these things would listen to him, they probably couldn't even understand him. He estimated there were at least twelve of them, including the one he had hit with the hammer.
Finally, they all began to close in on him, the drone began to beep. Joshua tried to pull something else from his bag, and ended up with a waterskin. He shoved it back in, and now there was barely two feet between the monsters and him. This time, he actually looked in the bag when he pulled something out, and managed to find a small gun he pointed it somewhere in the crowd of creatures.
"Stay back!" Joshua cried in a shaky voice. His hand was also shaking uncontrollably, he didn't sign up for this, he was going to die! He worked for a delivery company, not a monster extermination company! He finally made himself pull the trigger.

Chapter 4: A Taste of Combat

A sharp bang rung out, and there was a thud. Joshua opened one eye, to see that all the creatures had stopped advancing, and were staring at the ground. Joshua opened his other eye, and looked down to see they were staring at the body of one of the lizard creatures, who had a bullet hole and bump on his head. Joshua lowered his gun. It was no doubt the one who he had hit with the hammer, and now, he had killed it.
One of the creatures looked up at Joshua and hissed before charging at him. Instinctively, he put the gun back up and pulled the trigger. It fell over, and rolled a few times, before stopping and letting out a hiss. The bullet had hit it in the arm, and it was struggling to get up. All the other creatures were watching. Joshua couldn't tell for sure, but they seemed to be in horror, he had killed one of them, and wounded another.
They all began to back away from Joshua and one threw something at him. It wasn't anything hard, so it bounced off his suit, but Joshua glanced down to see it was a book. He would have loved to look at it now, but he should wait until the creatures were gone. Joshua held up his gun, spinning, and trying to aim it at every one of the creatures, one at a time.
"I'll... I'll shoot you all if you don't leave!" He yelled. He looked up at his drone, who stopped beeping, and slowed its spinning speed. The red flash in its eye began to fade. He looked around him, the creatures were receding! The seemed to mutter something, then the golem started to step toward him again, and the lizard creatures stopped in their tracks.

No! Leave! It began to move quicker, and seemed to be running toward him. Joshua held up the gun, and shot it, but it didn't even flinch. The drone beeped again, and its eye turned a solid dark red. Panicking, Joshua tried to turn and run, but the golem got behind him as he was turning, and slammed its hands together with great force. Joshua was sent flying quite a few feet, and face planted into the dirt. He turned his head to look at the golem, who the lizards now seemed to be cheering on.
Joshua wasn't hurt too bad, luckily the golem hadn't punched him. The drone didn't seem to be doing anything, besides watching. Now what do I do? This thing will crush me, and my bag is over by him. The golem started to walk towards him again. Joshua got to his feet, and realized his gun had slid out of his hand. He checked the ground as the golem once again began to pick up speed, yet his gun was nowhere to be found.
The golem was nearing Joshua now, and as the golem stopped to attack, Joshua jumped to the side. He had narrowly avoided the golem's attack, it appeared this time the golem had intended to crush him. The force was still great, almost knocking Joshua over, but he managed to stay on his feet. He took this opportunity to dash to his bag, and as soon as he got to it, he stuck his hand, hoping that there was something useful in it. He felt some sort of metal, and pulled it out. He found it to be pickaxe.
A pickaxe? Well... This guy is made of stone. He looked up to see the golem three feet away, so he took the pick, and hopped to stick it in the golem's eye.

    Chapter 5: Names

Joshua released the pick's handle as he lodged it into the golem's eye. The golem stumbled backwards, and raised it hands to its face, attempting to slap the pick as if it were a bug. It only succeeded in pushing the pick all the way through to the other side of the golem's head. The golem suddenly stopped, his arms fell to his sides and dangled for a moment until it fell backward, crumbling into rubble as it hit the ground.
The lizards had stopped cheering, and were watching silently. Only a few moments later, they scattered off into different directions. Joshua watched them, and was glad for a moment, but only a moment. Then his heart sank, and he realized everything that had taken place. Staring down at the body of the lizard he had killed, Joshua felt unbearable guilt.
To those creatures, he was a murderer, an invader. The first one of them may have been approaching peacefully, but Joshua hurt and killed it. It might have family, friends, who knows. But what about the golem? Joshua turned his head to look at the pile of large rocks which had once been the peculiar, destructive golem. What was it? It wasn't robotic, and Joshua didn't see anything that could make it "alive". No heart, no brain, just rock and earth.
Trying to get these horrible thoughts out of his head, he remembered the book that had been thrown at him. He searched the ground, and found it quickly. Picking it up, Joshua opened it. He found it to be a journal of some sort, yet all of its pages, save two, were missing. That's an awful lot of missing pages, who tore them out? He looked at the first page.
"WAR-IN-: T-is j--rn-l c-nt-ins -n--rm---on o- an -nk-own -l--et, coord--ates --,--,--,--." The text was faded away, and almost unreadable, yet it was odd... Where would any creature on this planet have gotten this? They must have found it in the ship's cargo boxes, there was no way a book old enough to have text this faded could be here, especially since this planet was obviously not on any star map. The Contact Light's alarm for an unknown planet had gone off, and it must have meant this one.
If it meant another nearby planet, and not this one, then that wouldn't make sense. If another planet was nearby, and this one wasn't unknown, then that would mean the other one wouldn't be unknown, since it's right next to this one, right? Joshua had no clue why he was trying to make sense of all this. The back of the first page was blank, so he turned to the only other page in the book...
It's text was much clearer, and nothing was faded, dusty, or molded. In fact, it looked like it was in great shape. But the thing that Joshua was most surprised and confused by, was that on the page there was a picture of the lizard creatures, and above it, there was a word... Lemurian.

    Chapter 6: Statues

Lemurian? Was that the name of the creature? But... How was there any data on these things? Were there others like them on another planet? That must be it. But why would a lizard-like creature have a name that sounds like "Lemur"? That was less concerning, there were plenty of unexplained things like that, such as how did dumb, a word meaning someone can't talk, evolve into a word used to call someone stupid?
Joshua changed the subject on himself. He needed too survive, find a way off this planet, and not kill anything. He felt those were going to be quite hard now, though, since he felt some braver lemurians may jump at the opportunity to fight him. He probably had a bounty on his head. Sighing, Joshua remembered the two ladders nearby, and looked up to see they led to another bridge higher up, that looked rickety. There were some supports coming down next to the ladders, but they looked sort of moldy. They seemed like they might snap at any moment, and one had lots of holes in it, possibly from some sort of bugs?
None the less, Joshua wanted to know what was up there, because he needed anything that could get him out of here, so he grabbed his bag, checked to see that his drone was still there and being useless, and headed up the ladder. Halfway up he noticed how high he had climbed, and felt a little sick, seeing the bottom was many feet away, but he pushed himself to go up to the very top. He stepped off the ladder, and onto the bridge, which turned out to be surprisingly stable.
Looking off the bridge at the large hole he was in, he realized that this must have once been a lake of some sort. The signs of water, the old, wooden bridges, it was a dried lake! Looking around, Joshua saw he was on the same level as the surface, but the bridge stretch far enough for Joshua to reach it. Then he turned around, and came face to face with a pedestal, and standing on it, was a golem!
Jumping backward Joshua turned and ran to the edge of the bridge, where it was broken only fifteen or so feet away from the surface. Turning again to see how close the golem was, Joshua realized it hadn't moved. Not even a bit. Curiously, he inched closed, and realized it wasn't an actual golem, just a statue. Walking up to it, Joshua found some strange symbols on the pedestal. Flying beside Joshua, the drone began to scan the symbols.
"Hey, uh... You don't need to do that." Joshua tried to tell the drone. "Hey, are you listening to me?" The drone continued to scan them, before the eye suddenly flashed red, and the drone turned and looked straight up. Trying to also look up, which was pretty hard while wearing his suit, Joshua managed to see two white creatures with spots that had dull colors on them. They were moving in circles, as if chasing eachother. They were a little close, but they didn't seem hostile. For the first time, Joshua also noticed how cloudy it was right now, which was odd, since a while ago there was enough sun to charge the drone... Wait...
"Drone?" Joshua asked. "Drone?" He tapped on it, and it turned to him. "Uh, show battery level." The drone stared at him. "Show battery level!" It did nothing. How am I supposed to now when it runs out of battery? Guess? Sighing, Joshua suddenly noticed the two creatures were now on the same level as the golem statue. They looked a little, no, exactly, like jellyfish.
They were now chasing each other around the statue, then began to circle Joshua. They didn't look like they were trying to hurt him, and they soon moved away and began to make figure eights a few feet away. Fascinated, Joshua watched them for a while, before being interrupted by the drone beeping. Turning to it, it still seemed to believe the jellyfish were dangerous, and Joshua tried to find a way to make it stop.
"Um... Bad drone!" Joshua scolded. Nothing happened. "Those creatures are good!" Nothing happened. "Insert in file: Peaceful: Jellyfish." Nope. Sighing, Joshua sat down and watched them circle each other in different patterns.

    Chapter 7: The Food Problem

Hungry, Joshua opened his bag and pulled out one of the food rations. Then, he came to a realization... How was he supposed to eat anything while wearing a suit? Or even drink something? All these flaws in this single bag... It was like whoever designed it didn't actually care whether or not whoever used survived! But of course, companies never care about their workers, just the money.
Joshua glanced up, the jellyfish were gone, and the drone had gone back to scanning the symbols on the statue. He might as well toss all the food rations and water skins, they would be useless. But no, he didn't want to take the risk. Joshua stood up as he put the food ration he had pulled from the bag back in, and turned to the drone. It was still scanning the statue.
"Hey, stop it." Joshua told it. As usual, it ignored him. "I'll leave-" It dinged, and a screen extended out of its side towards Joshua. It read, Scan complete, results: Offer for a chance of rewards.
"Offer? Offer what?" Joshua asked, then remembered it wasn't going to respond. "Never mind." Joshua pulled the food ration back out and placed it on the pedestal. Nothing happened. That was the only idea Joshua had, there was no way he was going to give it any of his weapons, and other than that, all he had was 15 dollars, and it probably didn't accept that.
Suddenly, Joshua was interrupted by a series of three chimes that played twice, almost like a clock tower. He looked around him, was there a clock tower somewhere around him that he missed? He didn't see anything, but he knew he had... No... It was dehydration wasn't it, that was getting to him. He needed to get off of this planet quickly. He made his way back down the ladder, and dashed across the bottom of the dried lake, looking for anyway out of this horrible place.
He couldn't find anything except more ladders, some sort of energy coming out of a hole in the ground, there were more cargo boxes, but nothing. Nothing at all. Joshua sat down on some rocks next to yet another ladder. I... I don't want to die... Not here, on a planet where I'm considered a murderer by humanoid lizards... Suddenly, the rock he was sitting on shook a little... Confused, Joshua stood up and turned around to inspect the rock, and found it was alive!
Joshua stepped backward as the rock came to life and burst out of the ground, shaking off sand... It wasn't a rock at all, it was a humongous crab! Joshua jumped onto the nearby ladder and climbed up. The crab shuffled back and forth below him, trying to find a way up, but to no avail. Reaching the top, Joshua let himself fall to the ground. There was no way I'll survive here, he was starving, everything wanted to kill him now, and the only thing with him was a useless drone.
As if responding to his thought, the drone dinged. Joshua looked up at it.
"Shut up." He growled. It was circling around something... It was circling around some huge, metal platform, with two spikes shooting up at its sides. Joshua's eyes widened as he realized what it was.

    Chapter 8: A Way

A teleporter! They were used to get from cargo hold to cargo hold quickly on the ship, and if a teleporter was still on the Contact Light, maybe he could use this to get to the wreckage! After that... He'd figure something out. He scrambled to his feet and walked up to the teleporter, and tried to step in the teleporter and use it. Nothing happened, but that was because he saw the screen was off, therefore the teleporter was off. How odd, maybe a creature turned it off when looking at it, hopefully he didn't break it.
Joshua found the on switch, flicked it, and waited. He knew it took about a minute and a half to two minutes for the teleporter to warm up and check its system. Suddenly, a wave of energy overcame Joshua for a moment, then left. It was strange, it had come from the teleporter, and had actually distorted the air. It didn't normally happen. A crack sound came from below where the crab was. Curious, Joshua stood and looked down there to find the crab had destroyed the bottom of the ladder, and was now wailing on the supports!
A few lemurians could be seen not too far in the distance... No, not a few, a lot, too many to count. They looked different though, they seemed rabid. They were drooling, and a few had even attacked each other, swiping their claws and biting at their necks. They had a look of hurt and hate in their eyes, and that wasn't all... They were all walking towards the teleporter. Towards Joshua.
Wha... What? What's going on? Right next to the teleporter, a golem formed. No, not one, four. They stared at Joshua as though he could see his soul through his eyes. One cocked its head, and another watching staring at the drone hovering near Joshua, which he had forgotten about in his excitement and dread. The bridge shook, the crab was making progress. So much was going on, and very little about it was good. He opened his emergency bag, weapons? No pickaxe, no pistol, a sword? Not the most useful here. A bow? Oh come on! An INSTRUCTION MANUAL TO BUILD YOUR OWN JANITOR? What!? There was no time for this, what kind of weapons did they think I'd need on an uncharted planet? He pulled out a sniper rifle he'd finally found, then realized how close the lemurians were, and how the golems continued to stare into his soul.
He pointed the rifle at the golems, they noticed quickly, and they each exchanged glances, before then looking back at Joshua, and beginning to move toward him. He pulled the trigger, and it went straight through the first golem's eye. The golem made it a few more steps before collapsing. He tried to fire again and hit the second golem, but no ammo. He reloaded, then went to shoot, and found the golems were now two feet away, staring down at him. It was like he was in a horror movie, just being creeped out and scared until finally killed.
Joshua was backed up to the edge of the bridge, which was only about three feet away. The golems stepped whenever he did. One finally decided to throw a punch, when a purple blur knocked it over.

    Chapter 9: The Golem

A lemurian had... Attacked the golem? He couldn't believe it, but it was happening. The golems were fighting the lemurians! But why? No, who cares. Joshua took the opportunity to get away from the battle. Just as he thought he was home free, he heard something take a step behind him. Joshua turned his head, half the lemurians had turned to Joshua and were snarling and hissing at him. Some of them had sweat and drool dripping down them, as their eyes bored into Joshua like daggers. Oh... Joshua ran.
There were so many of them behind him, why were they all like this anyway? I don't have to time to think about that, Joshua thought, as he realized the lemurians were gaining on him, the edge of this dried lake is right there! Only about twenty meters away was the large wall of sand, mud, and dirt that would mean his inevitable doom. There was nothing he could do about it now. Joshua inspected the wall. It definitely wasn't climbable. In fact... Wait. The whole wall was shifting, crumbling... A large rock, many feet up suddenly lit up red. The lemurians had stopped moving, and Joshua was only four meters from the wall, he didn't want to get any closer.
The whole wall fell apart as a humongous golem crashed out of the wall. Joshua was stunned, there was no way he could kill this thing. He turned, the lemurians were panicking in their already rabid state. Some of them were attacking others, and even themselves. This was unnatural, and this huge golem didn't make sense. Why was it in the wall? How did it work? So many questions, but no answers were going to come, were they? Joshua realized the huge golem had started moving, and he leaped out of the way of its foot which almost crushed him.
He looked toward the lemurians, the golem was almost to them, and there was no doubt they wouldn't stand a chance. Suddenly they all charged at the golem, even the ones who had stayed back to fight the other golems. The huge golem stared down at the lemurians, who appeared to be trying to climb up him and bite his legs. Joshua looked at the sniper rifle still in his hand. This was a perfect opportunity to get the number of the lemurians down. He reloaded the gun and aimed at one of the lemurians, then pulled the trigger. He missed. He was about to shoot again, when the golem shook off every single one of them, sending most flying, then lifted his foot and crushed many of them. They all scattered, and Joshua was amazed by the power of the golem, until he realized he'd have to fight it.

Chapter 10: Shadow of the Golem

The golem looked around at the scattering lemurians. Then a noise rang out, a sharp scratching sound, and they all stopped. All of them looked at him, and the golem turned around and pointed at Joshua. What's going on? All the lemurians began to advance toward Joshua, then the golem did too. Joshua began to panic, what did he do? Then he remembered the teleporter, of course! He could use it to get out of here! But how would he get to it? He threw the sniper rifle in the bag, it wasn't going to help right now. He searched through for more weapons, aha! A shotgun! He pulled it out and aimed it toward the advancing stampede. Joshua thought better, the bullets wouldn't be able to reach them, he'd have to get closer.
Standing up, Joshua began to have second thoughts, was it really worth killing all these creatures to get home? He sighed, I... I have to... But... They were getting close. Joshua only had one idea, he charged full speed, pulling the trigger time and time again. He had to move left and right quite a lot, a few times the golem tried to crush him, but managed to get through the crowd, somehow. He did get scratched a few times, and even bitten, but he was in pretty good shape, considering. Although, it wasn't over yet. He had to keep running.
Joshua spotted the teleporter up ahead. If he could activate it, hopefully it will take him straight to one of the teleporters still on board the Contact Light! Suddenly, golems were building themselves around him, then coming after him as well. Why did they want to stop him so badly? Was... Was it the surge of energy he had felt when activating the teleporter? He made it to the teleporter at last, and slammed the button to teleport, but nothing happened.
What? He looked up, there were eight golems! He held up the shotgun and fired at them, eventually they were all just piles of rubble, yet there were now tons of lemurians all over the place, not to mention the colossal golem!
He held the shotgun up. He knew he had to do it if he wanted to survive. Joshua began to shoot wildly into the crowd he could see the lemurians falling one by one, he heard their screeches of agony, their pleas. It hurt Joshua to think about what he was doing, but he had to. Finally, it was over... Except the golem, looking down at all of the bodies of the creatures that Joshua had to bring himself to kill. It suddenly threw a punch lifted its foot and attempted to stomp Joshua, but he moved out of the way and the golem missed.
Suddenly, Joshua had an idea. He grabbed the golem's leg, and began to climb up it. Confused, the golem attempted to shake him off. Holding tightly onto the golem's imperfect, rocky skin, Joshua continued up. He eventually got to his body, and the golem began to try to crush him, or at least get him off with his hands. Joshua was forced to move to the golem's back, where it was unable to reach. He continued up, until finally, he was at the back its head. He held the shotgun up to it, and pulled the trigger.

    Chapter 11: Escape...?

Joshua stood up and looked around him. There were rocks and clumps of earth scattered around him, which had once made up the humongous golem. He turned his head to the teleporter, it still stood! If he activated it... But... He had tried to, it didn't work. Was he stranded here? Stuck with the bodies of the creatures he had killed? He walked over to it. As he approached, he heard an occasional slam from below him. Walking up to the edge, he looked over to see a huge crab dragging itself back and forth, seemingly tired.
Joshua sighed, and let one final spray of bullets leave his shotgun. The crab's lifeless body hit the ground. Joshua turned toward the teleporter. Well, He thought. Here goes. He stepped onto the platform, and pressed the button. There was suddenly light all around him, and then it was gone. Joshua was so confused, it didn't normally do that from what he remembered when using it on the ship... He stumbled onto the purple grass...? Wait, purple grass? Joshua looked up, confusedly.
There landscape had completely changed, he had teleported! It worked! The night sky was still there, yet a relaxing large moon had replaced the previously empty half of the sky. He looked left and right, there was no sign of lemurians, but there certainly were creatures. Large glowing humanoids sat in places, watching what appeared to be smaller versions of themselves playing with each other. Sometimes Joshua would spot something with one large red eye on their body in the corner of his eye, but when he looked toward it it was gone. This place seemed... Too peaceful. Something is up. He knew it.

    Chapter 12: Treasure

Joshua decided to explore a little. There wasn't a lot of stuff to get in his way. He actually began to become a little bored, and for the first time in a while, noticed the drone. At one point, he heard some footsteps behind him. He immediately turned and held up his shotgun, but lowered it when the creature who came up to him cowered. Before him stood a seemingly defenseless creature, although it was a little bigger than Joshua. It didn't really have eyes, and was a little hard to look at anyway, since it was glowing, but Joshua could tell it was humanoid.
It came up to him, curiously, like a child. It cocked its head in interest and was about to reach out and touch Joshua, when one of the larger ones came and pulled it away. It looked at it and appeared to be scolding it, then it took its hand and the walked away. The small creature looked back for a moment, then turned back and hung its head in sadness. Joshua felt a little bad for the poor creature, but there wasn't much he could do. Well, unless he wanted to kill the large creature, but Joshua felt the smaller one wouldn't appreciate that.
Later on his trek, he came across another cargo chest from the ship, but he really didn't want to bother. He was about to move on, when he saw something else. There was a small pot on a pedestal, and as Joshua approached, he heard some noises from inside. The drone suddenly began to analyze the pot, and was done much faster than last time. The screen came out and Joshua read it, "Analysis: Five small imps are inside this pot. When the lid is opened, they will run. One of them is holding useful treasure. They will teleport away after 10 seconds." Useful treasure?
Joshua was about to open the lid, but if he did they would all run, so then how was he supposed to get the treasure? What if the treasure wasn't actually useful? He could... Kill them. He had already killed so many lemurians and other creatures though, he didn't want to kill any more! But... What if the treasure is useful? Very useful! He had to do it. He slowly lifted the lid, and then suddenly five little gray imps climbed out of the pot and ran off. One of them seemed to be holding something, which Joshua assumed to be the treasure. Dropping the lid, Joshua chased one a few feet before shooting it, and then turned and got three more another few feet away. But where was the last one?
Joshua turned looking every way, and finally spotted it, but there was only a few seconds left, and it was quite a distance away! He looked in his bag for something, anything! A grenade! He tossed it into the air towards the imp, hoping it would hit. The grenade arched downward, the throw was too short! But then, it bounced! It bounced and hit the imp, and exploded. He had done it. He had no clue how that grenade bounced, but he didn't care. He checked every body, and the last one he killed was holding... A jetpack? It was quite beat up and rusty, the explosion probably didn't help, but it looked like it might work.
He threw it on, and attempted to use it, but it just shot him in the air. The hover feature didn't even work, it just caused him to slowly descend. Sighing, he took it off. Was that really worth it? Why had he actually tried that? Ever since he became stuck on this planet, he was acting unlike himself. He had become an angry madman! Or... Was this just his way of trying to survive? Joshua's thoughts were then interrupted by a sharp screaming sound from behind him. He turned to see one of those creatures who he only noticed out of the corner of his eye. It was looking down at one of the small creatures he had killed, and Joshua suddenly came to a realization. The small imps... This strange demon... They were identical.

    Chapter 13: Murder

Joshua couldn't believe it... He was a murderer. He had murdered what must have been an innocent imp child... This larger imp was never going to forgive him. It screamed in agony, anger, and hate, just before lunging forth. Joshua dodged to the side, but suddenly there was a flash of red light and the imp was in front of him, slashing its claws. Joshua fell backwards and gnashed his teeth. He put up the shotgun and pulled the trigger, but nothing was there... It was gone.
No... It has to still be somewhere. Joshua attempted to get to his feet but instead winced in pain and fell back onto the ground. He looked at his arm, the imp had slashed straight through the suit's sleeve. Wait... THE SUIT'S SLEEVE WAS RIPPED! Joshua panicked, his oxygen might get sucked out of the suit! He tried a few more times to clamber to his feet, and on the fourth try he got it. What should I do, what should I do?! He saw the imp standing off in the distance, no doubt proud of its work and waiting for Joshua to suffocate.

(I have no clue how rips in space suits work so if anything here related to that makes no sense, sorry.)

Okay, remember my training... Keep calm and... I don't remember the rest. So keep calm. Joshua calmed himself down... Until the oxygen meter beeped in alert that the oxygen was getting low! The bag! Joshua flung the bag open and grabbed an oxygen tank. The beeping became super fast. He took a deep breath, and swapped the tanks... He was alive! The oxygen was still running out, but he was alive, for now. For two minutes. That's when this oxygen tank would also run out, and since he really didn't feel he should delay his death by changing the oxygen tank every two minutes until he ran out of oxygen tanks, he was accepting that he would die in two minutes... Wait. Joshua stared at the meter on the tank he replaced. This tank ran out of oxygen before I held my breath.

Chapter 14: JUL NER LBH QBVAT GUVF

This planet must have oxygen! Oxygen! I- I'm going to live! Joshua was so filled with joy, he forgot about the imp... Until it suddenly slashed him again. Joshua winced in pain, falling forward. Where was the drone? What was it doing right now?
"Drone!... Help..." Joshua managed to say. He could feel pain from his leg, the imp was smart. It knows how to kill a human...oid? Maybe it just knew how to kill lemurians, and applied that knowledge here. As far as Joshua knew, since his face was in the dirt as he struggled to get up again, the drone did nothing. Joshua rolled onto his back to see the imp staring down at him with its eye. For the first time, Joshua realized how creepy the imp was. Its one red eye never blinked, and there was something odd about it. Joshua felt sadness, fear, and a variety more emotions, none of them were positive. Was the imp possibly made out of these emotions? Was his eye? No, that made no sense. But if I feel this when I look in his eye, maybe... Maybe it always feels them. I don't envy that. Joshua looked away from the imp's eye. It was already suffering, and Joshua didn't help.
Joshua had no clue what to do. Could he really live with himself after this? He killed what was essentially a child, and now... This.
"Please! I'm sorry!" The imp stared down at him. It said... Something. Something impossible to make out.
"JUL NER LBH QBVAT GUVF." Is what it sounded like, but what does that mean? It's gibberish, although what was to be expected, this creature didn't understand english anyway. No point in talking to it, or... Anything. The imp raised its claw, like it was about to strike a final blow. Joshua knew he had to. He put the gun up and pulled the trigger. He didn't want to die! He couldn't... Yet. He had to figure this out. What was this planet? Why is everything on it so strange? He looked for the drone, and spotted it.
"Drone? Hey! Over here! You're a medical drone! Help me!" It floated over, and looked at his arm. Unexpectedly, a strange stream of green energy shot out of the drone's eye straight onto the wound. Joshua felt a sharp pain for a moment... Then it was gone. The wound, it was gone. Joshua inspected his arm, fascinated. He had never seen a medical drone actually heal someone, he didn't know how it worked! This was amazing! Joshua struggled to get to his feet, then had the drone heal his leg wound as well.
"Thank you, so much." The drone beeped in acknowledgement... Wait what?! The drone understood me!
"Drone! Hello? Can you understand me?" The drone floated there. If it could, Joshua was sure it would cock its head. It understood me before... I don't get it. Joshua sighed. It didn't really matter. He looked down at the imp's corpse. Its eye, with a bullet hole in it, had faded from red to grayish blue, and Joshua could no longer sense feelings within it. If I could I would take this thing with me for scientists to study, but all I can do is guess. So... I'll say that the imp is a teleporting creature with physcic abilities who's eye is its brain. Joshua decided he had to forget about this... It all made his head throb, whatever this imp creature was, it's dead now... And its past might be something that should remain a mystery. I just can't help but wonder about it. What did it try to say to me? What IS it? This planet is just... Impossible.

    Chapter 15: Child

Continuing on, Joshua came to a large land form, a piece of land the almost looked like it was just pulled out of the ground being supported by some large columns of dark gray dirt and stone. A vine led up to it, and looking up Joshua thought he saw the bottom of a bridge connecting the two. A vine? Why not give me a ladder. Joshua attempted to climb up, but it was harder then it would seem. Thank god this vine didn't have thorns... I think. Joshua was trying for a while, until finally he made it a little further up, but still fell down. This is insane. I wasn't trained for this, this is some military crap, why hasn't someone actually just come for me? Don't they know that the ship crashed? Sighing, Joshua sat down to take a break.
But was surprised to see that someone else was already sitting nearby, around maybe 10-15 feet away. Well, something else. It was one of those small, glowing humanoids. Small glowing humanoid? Well, that seems tedious to say. Hmm... One came up to me when I first teleported to this place, I remember thinking it was like a child... I'll call it a child then, making the larger ones parents. Now I'll feel extra bad if I have to kill one, I've already killed something that was a child. It sort of just... Sat there, looking at Joshua. So Joshua just sat there, looking back. It didn't try to hurt him, the drone seemed not to react to it, surprisingly. Joshua was intrigued, this creature was one he hadn't made angry yet! So therefore, it wasn't going to kill him!
Or maybe it couldn't kill him? Joshua thought about it for a moment. If it's similar to a child, which it is, then how do I know it isn't also defenseless? Of course, I wouldn't kill it, but if I tried, would it react at all other then fear and running? I guess I'll never know, because there is no way I'll attack the child. Apparently, the child got bored of sitting there, and got up, slowly walking towards Joshua. Joshua got up and waited for it to get closer, but the drone suddenly flew in Joshua's way, there was something wrong with it! Its systems seemed like they might be malfunctioning! Was it low on power? There was only a moon out, it isn't out of the question that that might be it. But the drone could still fly? And the systems weren't shutting down, they were just acting abnormal. The drone went and circled the child a few times before the hover system suddenly dropped and then drone attempted to roll around on the ground.
Was the drone trying to tell him that the
child was causing this? The child was still inching closer, it was now only 5 feet away, but pretty slow anyway. The drone suddenly popped back up from the ground, and panicked some more, before flying directly into the child, knocking it over, but at the same time there was a sharp zapping sound. The drone fell to the ground, no longer moving. The child stood up, made some sort of noise, and reached out its hand and pointed towards the drone. Joshua was stunned at what happened. He was even more stunned when in the spot where the child was pointing, the drone, a rather small explosion happened.
"NO!" Joshua suddenly realized that the drone was his only company, and his only help. He couldn't let it die! He pulled up his gun and walked towards the child. He didn't want to get too close though, he had a feeling the drone was trying to save him by showing him that the child, probably any glowing humanoid, is dangerous when run into or touched by. The child saw the gun and an almost laughing sound came from it as it pointed its finger at Joshua. He rolled out of the way instead of pulling the trigger, there was no way he would kill it. Never. He just wanted it to leave him and the drone alone. The child was surprised to see itself miss, and decided to try again. Joshua dodged to the side, but the child adjusted its aim quickly and Joshua was thrown back by the sudden explosion. Skidding to a stop on the ground he was pulling himself to his feet when another explosion next him knocked him back over.
Joshua had to get back up quickly, so instead of getting to his feet, he sat up,then quickly propelled himself forward and dive rolled out of the way of another explosion that was next to him. He now jumped to his feet while the child hopefully was confused and stunned, then ran as fast as he could over to the drone, picked it up, and dodged an explosion. He put his gun near the child's head. I'll just threaten in. I won't shoot it.
"You will leave us alone, or you will say goodbye to this world. You hear me? Go." Joshua felt really bad after saying that, but it was the only way. He didn't think the child actually understood what he said, but it probably got the message. Joshua continued to aim at it while it backed away, then turned and ran. Joshua sat down next to the drone. He couldn't fix it, could he? He wasn't an engineer, he didn't know the first thing about how drones work. Joshua stayed there for a while. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't fix the drone. Sadness swept over him, and as he continued to be sad, while looking at the drone, he suddenly noticed three imps were standing around him.

Chapter 16: Visitor or IntruderedurtnI ro rotisiV

The strange creature looked up at them.
"Anyone know what it is?" the one in the middle, who talked, looked to its left. "Bava?" Bava stared back.
"You expect me to know?" The creature appeared struck with fear. That is how they found it after all, that and sadness. It was looking down at a pile of metal or something. Who really cares.
"Well, I don't know, I thought you might. You spend more time in the library than I do." The one in the middle spoke again. "The smell of its fear grows stronger the more we are here. Why is it afraid of us?"
"Hm. Maybe we should just leave it be. Moghz, you have been quiet." The middle one looked to its right.
"I have no thoughts. I have no opinion," Moghz stared at the creature. "Only facts. It displays fear, and regret. It is not only afraid of us because it thinks us dangerous. It's afraid of us because it thinks it did something that would anger us. It looks beat up. What point would there be in taking or killing it, there's no way it will ever survive out here. Leave it to the lemurians."
"After all those facts, Moghz, you still forget." The middle one shook its head. "This is Sky Meadow. Lemurains are not native here."
"Whatever, Nypss." The creature they were surrounding suddenly spoke some incomprehensible gibberish.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Please! Leave me be!" Joshua cried. The imps had been talking to eachother in their strange language... Like they were contemplating. Why didn't they just leave already? And if they weren't going to, why didn't they just kill him?
"V GUVAX JR FUBHYQ WHFG YRNIR VG. PBZR BA." The middle imp spoke. They glanced at eachother for a second. "JR JVYY OR JNGPUVAT LBH. JNGPU LBHE FGRC, PERNGHER. LBH SRRY NF VS LBH ZNL UNIR QBAR FBZRGUVAT GB NATRE HF, VS FHPU N GUVAT VF GEHR GURA LBH NER ABG FNSR BA GUVF CYNARG. ABG SEBZ HF. JR NER GUR FUNQBJF, NAQ GUR GUVAT NYJNLF VA GUR PBEARE BS LBHE RLR." Then they left. Joshua was relieved. He couldn't believe it, he was alive, after three imps! They didn't attack him... Did they not know about the imp children he had... No, it was best to just continue. Joshua looked down at the drone.
He had to leave it here. He couldn't do anything for it, maybe if he could find the ship engineer, but he was probably dead. As far as Joshua knew, he was the only survivor. With how many people were on that ship, and how many escape pods were missing, he had seen no other crashed pods. Maybe everyone else landed on a better planet. Maybe they all were shot down before they reached the planet. Joshua stood and turned away from the drone he had to leave it. His only friend. Even if the drone wasn't hit by the explosion, Joshua was willing to bet that the shock from hitting the child probably fried the circuits completely. Friends... Joshua thought of his friends and family back at home. His sister, his parents, his cousins... He had to get back. They would make sure he got rescued anyway. They would send a search party when the UES Contact Light didn't reach its intended destination.
A search party would probably be sent either way. For Joshua and the other passengers? Heck no, for the ship and its cargo, that's all the team would care about. That's why Joshua had to find his own way off this planet. How? By getting to the UES Contact Light's crash site before the search party does. Wait... The Contact Light did crash on this planet, right? Joshua couldn't recall. Things would never go his way. He was still hungry, thirsty, and now, tired.

Looking good so far! Keep going!

If I have anything to suggest, it'll be that centered alignment is little awkward to read. Also, dividing up the large first paragraph would make it easier to read, as well.

I don't buy it. How come he's surprised to find traces of civilization if he already assumed there was civilization advanced enough to take down a spaceship?

The first assumption one would think would be that space pirates attacked. Space pirates hunkering down on a planet doesn't necessarily mean the planet has or had civilization; as someone whose own space setting has LOTS of space pirates, it's not unheard of to have them rely on a small camp on an uncharted, uninhabited world. Doubtful that such a camp would require such a large construction. I think the confusion is still plausible.

That said, it's looking good so far!

Plausible, but it's the author's duty to make me believe the story enough to suspend my disbelief. What you said, while true, is not apparent from the text, is all.

I really like the translation from in-game manic gunning down a horde of immediately-hostile creatures to the more realistic "guns are actually quite powerful against humanoids and thus are scary" approach to the combat in this. I started off trying to pin a 'class' to Joshua, but I have a feeling he's more of a civilian sort and not an actual in-game class. Keep it up!

Yeah, I really didn't want the combat in the story to be, "Joshua shot something. Joshua shot something else. Joshua shot the first thing again because it wasn't dead yet." Because of how repetitive that would be, not to mention how it would mean one chapter = one drawn out, boring battle. I also really didn't want to just give him a gun and have him stick with it forever, so I had to work my way around this with his emergency bag. You might also notice I never described what he looked like, and this was intentional. I'm not sure it's exactly a good idea, but I tried to just let the reader interpret his look from their imagination, based on what they think someone like him would look like. Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

EDIT: I'm noticing that adding indents actually make the paragraphs sort of awkward, anyone think I should just leave the indents out?
Ok, I got rid of them because they were really bugging me. Chapter 5 coming soon out now!
