Day 7 on this planet, you've taken to the massive cave systems in hopes for some ores to strengthen your defenses. Slowly waving your flashlight left and right, a slight glimmer catches your eye. Eureka! You've found something. Time to drill it out. You power up your handy Drill-o-Matic 6 that you bought from Spacme Inc. and lunge towards the mysterious mineral. Halfway into your slow motion dive, you notice something strange... is that an arm? No, that's a lot of arms, with legs as well! The vein of ore starts to vibrate, and by the next shot, you're back on your feet somehow watching this strange event. Individual pieces of ore begin to spring out from the vein, lunging at your with their arms that appear as if a child drew them in black crayon! They smother you, and you need some way to shake them off. Hiya, I had a little brainstorm and thought it'd be a fun surprise to see an entire vein of ore come to life and attack you while you mined. It would certainly keep the players on edge underground, and this species could even be exclusive to certain planetary types. I wouldn't say they're dangerous--maybe just ambitious--but it can and will be a nuisance to be covered in these little buggers. I might try to come up with a picture of what these look like, to help illustrate their menacing forms. But until then, does this sound like a neat-o idea? I tried searching for similar things and found nothing, but correct me if I'm wrong!
I like the idea, would be similar to Mimics in Terraria, but since ores are more common, they would be more dangerous!
