RELEASED Extended Avian Ship Mod

An expansion on the original Avian Extended Ship mod that adds additional cargo space, living quarters, and a flight deck.



Original - Adds an extended Avian ship model complete with a cargo hold, captains quarters, second floor, and viewing areas.

Please Note: Usage of this mod requires a new character. Because the art assets are different you can easily switch between the old Avian ship and the extended one based on the character you are playing on.

Installation:

1.) Locate your Avian ship asset directory.

If you are on steam it is most commonly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\ships\avian

2.) Extract the files from the AvianExtendedShipMod.zip into the avain ship assest directory.

Note: You will need to replace your dropship.structure file

Installation complete.

Uninstallation:

1.) Open dropship.structure using a text editor of your choice. (Such as Notepad)

2.) (Near the start of file) Change:

"backgroundOverlays" : [
"image" : "shipshipMod.png",

to

"backgroundOverlays" : [
{
"image" : "shipship.png",

3.) (Near the end of file) Change:

"blockImage" : "dropshipblocksMod.png"

to

"blockImage" : "dropshipblocks.png"

Unistallation complete.

 

I GENUINELY think this mod NEEDS more AERODYNAMICS!

 

Who needs aerodynamics in spaaaaaace?

I first saw this mod today on the Starbound Nexus, still think it looks great. I get all kinds of build ideas just looking at it!

 

is there a way to give it the Hylotl's ship skin?

 

I have finished work on a longer version of the ship that gives it a more aerodynamic feel. Expect an update soon now.

Unfortunately I have to do this all by hand to ensure every pixel matches up. I may make versions for the other races, but they can take quite a bit of time to ensure the quality stays high.

 

So how does this work with Multiplayer?

 

I honestly wasn't too much of a fan of your original ship design, but the 'cruiser' type ship is pretty dang awesome. *downloads*

 

People without the mod will be able to fully move around the ship, they just wont see the correct background image.
Its fully functional if all parties have the mod installed. ; if they also have the mod installed they will see the background image.
