One thing i want in Starbound is diffrent types of explosives, heres some examples: Granade: Throwing it will cause a pretty small explosion and will deal pretty decent damage. C4: A placeable explosive that will go off when you use a detonator, this will make infiltrating an enemy base pretty good. Smoke granade: An granade that causes a small smoke cloud at the location it's thrown at, you cant see trough it without thermals. Dynamite: A pack of explosives that needs a fuse to blow up, it will create a big explosion that will make all blocks above the explosion fall down. Sticky grenades: Not the normal kind that stick to you. no, grenades that explode and make the area REALLY sticky. Fox grenades: They explode and several, intelligent, foxes come out, seeking out targets to bite, the the foxes explode after several seconds. Attraction grenades: The grenade explodes and sends out pellets or goo that attracts other monsters, useful for traps and making monster attack each other. Repulsion grenade: see above but reverse. Riot grenades: non lethal grenade for all your non lethal needs. Gravity grenade: Causes an area of heavy gravity to pull in mobs, use first, then normal grenade. Gravity grenade type 2: Brings in objects before exploding, possibly only smaller objects (rocks, sand, small critters, bits of glass) to cause more shrapnel. Gravity grenade type 3: Makes enemies float helplessly in the air. Frost Bomb/Grenade: When thrown and connects with something ( Floor,wall,enemy,etc. ), it will explode and turn a small surrounding area into ice ( Temporarily) damaging any and all enemies in range and freezing them if the bomb hits them directly ( On impact: Big icicles and whatnot erupt from where it landed) Landmine: A placeable landmine that explodes if anything gets to close. Acidic Landmine: A placeable landmine hidden in the ground, when someone/something comes into it's vicinity or lands on it, it will explode and shoot out acid on anything nearby and corrode away any enemies caught in it, also has a 75% chance of causing "corrosion" debuff in which the player/enemy takes 7 dmg per second for 6 seconds Claymore: Works pretty much like the landmine, only triggers if the claymore is placed in the direction that you/the creature is. Sleep Gas Mine: When placed and an enemy comes within the mine's vicinity, the mine will shoot out of the ground and explode releasing a powerful gas that will put any basic enemy type to sleep for around 20 seconds. Sea mine: Can only be placed under water, will float up a bit depending on how long chain it has, used to sink ships and submarines, will cause a huge explosion, can be found randomly generated on planets. Airstrike: While not really an explosive, it does makr things explode, target an location and watch it disappear Napalm: Target an area and watch it burn, does also burn down trees. Guided missile: Locks on to the target you're aiming at and follows it till it hists, unless the target dodges it somehow. Nuke: Creates a large nuclear wasteland when you use it, best not to be in the blast zone. Cluster bomb: Explodes into 4 smaller explosives ( Which also explode ), the smaller explosives will differ depending on what explosives you used to create it. Time bomb Place and choose when it should explode. Please leave your own ideas down in the comments and i'll add them to this list.

interesting... explosives have GOT to be included in some form, clearing paths for exploring and such. good ideas, i also like the idea of a guided missile, maybe fired from an attachment you can add to your mech unit.
Supernova bomb, It would be a very hard to craft machine and once you press the detonate button,you have 5 minutes to get as far as possible away from the bomb,the distance doesn't matter really,because in the end it will send a shockwave that will destroy everything in its path,this is for leaving your planet with a bang
An explosive liquid/paste that you could do some different things with, like being able to pour it like water and detonate it. You could also put it into a grenade that would splash surrounding enemies when it lands with the paste that you could then shoot to ignite/make it go boom.
Good list, I would also suggest an anti gravity grenade that leaves enemies helplessly floating in the air. And you could use them to be all floaty....weeeee.
Cluster bomb, explodes into 4 other, smaller explosives (the type you use to make it, be it fox grenades, attraction, repulsion, grav etc) that are thrown away from the core point of the explosion. I would also note that only grenades can be used to make it, or some form of small explosives, it has to be propelled away from the point of detonation soooo, heavier things not work so much (or just dont go as far).
What I really liked about this post was the VARIETY of explosives. At first I thought you were just going to say GRENADES FTW and I would have liked this idea but you really went overboard with the idea so I like it alot more. I would like it about 17 times if I could because that is how amazing I thought the idea was. I also liked the idea of airstrikes that drop napalm and such. It would be awesome if you could call your space station and have them send mechs that fly over head and drop napalm down to burn trees and kill enemies.
