Explain the bottom of asteroid maps

Currently, there is just nothing below and you die with no reason and weak indication of its danger.

Perhaps we can get a visual effect for the bottom of the map, and a sci-fi explanation of why there is a bottom of the map?
A blackhole would not make sense, so I suggest a very fast moving field of tiny meteors that would shred/kill you if you fell into it?

I think you may be missing the point here. You are already in space, hence the need for the Survival Pack.

I think a better solution would be that falling off the edge just teleports you back to the ship. This could be explained as a safety feature of your ship, in that it rescues you before you drift into the cold oblivion of SPAAAAAAACE!

Layer of tiny death meteors sounds good, this is the one reason I pretty much never go to astroid maps.

There would be an item called a "back-to-ship" alert, that would call your ship in to your location, and you'd have to jet pack/float to an access hatch. But only if the ship has fuel.... Otherwise you're ,screwed. And u have to kill ur self.

Ps: typing on an iPad and its really screwy, so I apologise for any mistakes

Asteroids will be the first planets that can be circumnavigated in all four directions. I wish.

I agree. On the one hand, having the player be careful is good, but on the other, in keeping with the rest of the game, there are no other biomes that randomly kill you for exploring. Death is a little harsh/unbalanced. Warping to the ship seems like a better option.

However, if death is what the developers want then I think a dropping animation for a couple of more screens through empty space would indicate being lost in space.

Asteroids also offer much better bounties than planets, plus if you drill too deep you are still gonna die in most planets. It makes me wonder why there is gravity though, i hope they change that. Floating off in space is defenitely on my top ten worst ways to die list, it would be cool if your screen stops moving, but your character keeps going off scream with some death scream noise.

    Nightmares await...

i like that idea, although i would still like a way to escape that death (my first post on this thread) - in fact, it should be made for you to be able to go for a little spacewalk whenever you like!

Maybe an item like the climbing rope, a 1 use "oh crap i dont wanna die" item, to keep the suspense, but also allow survival
