So as this is experimental, does it mean I have normal progression? Like I can get the matter manipulator from the AI and upgrade it. Unlike what nighty has been - create new character, can't do anything as there is no MM. /admin is nice and all, but it doesn't dig or remove blocks (unless there is a command to activate the MM)
Only part i worry a bit about is planet variety, you allready said why, but i am sure you wont throw too missmatching stuff at us Inventory Management - nice and were needed, tough i hope that it is now maybe automaticly able to collect items even if the tab is full, because otherwise it allways causes sorting the inventory on the go, for jsut collect one item while the other tabs are not full yet. Dungeon/Village encounters - Really nice Perfomance - have to test that myself on nightly, tough i never had much perfomance issues myself.
Well... Inventory Management - It sounds really good! Variety - Ok,its totally alright, but as how many people said, there can be some weird combos Performance - Well,i cant even open the game ._. It just doesn't open
I'm crying inside right now.. when reading the post for todays update I was like performance updates!? must test...too bad I can't even get it to boot up T.T. also @ gleam you can get a the old matter manipulator by using the /spawn item beamaxe or beam_axe (I forgot which one it was). Well I'll be looking forward to the next stable build. Edit: (since making a new post isn't needed) So I was actually able to test the new nightly.. I was like hmm what if I tried the 32 bit version and wala it worked. 64 bit version is currently completely broken for me (only a loading cursor then nothing, no error report, no launcher, zip) I'm going to look for a command for getting the matter manipulator in the actual R slot now Wish me luck .
The only thing I have to say on the new planet variety is that the primary biome has to remain the main biome on the planet and affect the secondary biomes, like snow everywhere on a cold planet. And the difficulty of the planet is based on its own hazards after all x) Also, I only disagree with the Midnight and "Moon" secondary biomes on other primary biomes, because the Midnight planet is meant to be a special planet where there is never light, on others planets there is light like, every day... And the "Moon" biome, I believe it's unthinkable, because "Moon" or "Airless" is for little celestial bodies, I propose that you create another secondary biome instead like "Rocky", or "Lifeless area".
I've tried out the nightly a little for this changes only. I don't usually play nightly but this time I wanted to check out how things were. It's not as chaotic or messy as I thought for what some users said. Sure, it sometimes have an unfitting random biome (like a mini midnight biome in a frozen planet), but they mostly maintain their main biome for the majority of the planet. You sometimes find some biomes that you wouldn't expect there, and even dungeons, but they are all well adjusted and I didn't feel like it didn't have any sense at any point. I've gone to four planets, maybe not enough to consider it a good test, but for me, I don't share the opinion that planets seems messy now or a clash of random biomes. I find it fine like it is. Anyway, I do agree that Midnight biomes are the ones that never fit on other planet types...
Well.. Nightly doesnt even wanna start from my steam.. so that's how far im happy with the performance now :/
Just a terminology question more than anything: What is a sub-biome? For example, is the Prism a sub-biome or a biome?
This is a bit unrelated, but damage on contact (I'm talking about monsters) has to go. If it's not there anymore, then I'm sorry for being late to the party.
If you pin it to the taskbar steam doesn't need to open and it runs more easily. May not fix a lack of start up,but it might.
Run the starbound.exe from the win32 folder on your installation folder. The launcher and the 64 bits version won't start.
I agree. I like contact damage, it makes the game far better. The game is pretty easy as it is now, unless you are VERY unskilled, and removing contact damage would only make it easier.
