Would be cool tho if u could place food directly in ur world like furniture tho.. As far as im playing im constantly using my mouse on closing/opening chests, i dont see why this is a problem to some of ya (also pressing 'e' again or walking away far enough helps btw)
Hm, yeah. Hard to know where such a suggestion would actually get the developer's attention. Maybe the Suggestions forum, or Nightly support... hm.
Oh.. did i missed something before, or it is a bug, or in latest bightlies matter manipulator can't collect liquids anymore even while fully upgraded?...
Yeah, this and many other things. As you pointed out, it's only for your inventory. No chest sorting, until devs would add it. More importantly, there's AFAIK still no way to influence crafting. Some long time ago I was trying to add mod which takes crafting ingredients for crafting table not only from your inventory, but from all nearby inventories. As you may guess, no luck. Because I had no way to access some `Crafter` object. If CF guys wanna make this game really moddable, they'd need lots of work to move lots of things into scripting, and make engine API lower-level. I'm not mentioning some nicer way to add recipes, items etc. instead of JSON patching. And reasonable mod namespacing.
You'll have to use an admin command to enable tgat function, just as you did the Matter Manipulator in the first place.
I agree with this. These messages should be in the 'chat' window. Maybe divide the chat window into tabs, one for chat, one for game messages that aren't important enough cover the entire screen and disrupt your play.
I think that biomes are going to be put in tiers as well (if they aren't already). Especially if there are as many as they're claiming. Or, at least, have the items in the biome tiered. Granted, i'm almost certain they have a better idea for that already.
As at least one other person (and I'm sure many others have pointed out), Volcanic and Frozen actually DO go together, if the planet is done right. If you could make a planet where there's no Day/Night cycle and these cycles are controlled by your LOCATION on the planet, then it could fit. As in, Volcanic on Day side, Frozen on night side. In this case, you could also have small randomized "temperate" strips appear between the volcano and frozen sides as well, like what tends to happen on these tidally locked worlds. =D I'm not sure if having a planet's day/night cycle state controlled by the character's location on the planet is something that can be DONE with the current system, though...but...tidally locked planets could be interesting outside of just Volcanic/Frozen combos, as they could be put around larger planets as moons and stuff like that, and thus have any number of combinations as well. It could just be an extra possible setting. It's the fact that there's nothing left to do in the chest once you hit "Take All"...so it should automatically close, since it's already been emptied. ^^ I always hated this happening when I accidentally destroyed a chest and had its contents dumped in the past. Putting it in the chat window (in a "Loot" tab or something) is one way to do it...but I'd say just having the item drop pop ups limited to like...5 at once...would be better. That way you can still at least SEE what's dropping w/o having to look at a tab in the window. Could have it cycle new drops in when the windows for old drops disappear, in the case of there being more than 5 drops.
Nice work with the "take all" -button! "Quick stack to nearby chests" button in Terraria was also a great time saver, when bringing the loot home. Imho it should be implemented in Starbound.
I totally agree with you, the quick stack button allowed for pre-tidying the chests and then just press the quick stack button, that was such a good feature I thought it was something common on games like these.
as an old idea that was going around a year or so ago, maybe the separation of gloves and boots from the outfit so they're their own parts instead of it being united with the torso/pants? also, the addition of thirst for survival mode would be neat. so much liquid, so little to do with it! and on a final but related note, adding liquids to cooking recipes would add a slight weight to both difficulty and realism to an otherwise surreal universe. edit: something else i noticed is the 'sort' button works on ALL tabs. could it please not do that? i had my first tab fully organised to make things easier to manage, but i don't really mind if the others are put out of order... so could the 'organise' button only affect the opened tab please? xD in that note, a stimpack/health regain/food storage pouch would be neat =D PS: when are the collectible cards that one of which can be found in the assets be released? lol
This is facinating to me -- I'm curious what you think timezones would add to gameplay (and how many timezones? most planets can be circumnavigated in like 10-20 minutes). I'm not making fun, either -- I can't think of a good reason to add timezones, but I want to hear what you think would be good about them (like are you thinking you could put multiple teleporters on a planet so you could be on the day or night side for extended periods of time?) It doesn't do the whole tab though, it's one at a time -- doesn't the Terraria button actually handle all containers in a certain area? So you can go to your storage area and click a button and BANG all your bricks that are already stored go to the correct place. (I can't remember if this is true or not, but I don't want to install terraria just to check) Wait, the food not stacking is on purpose? Oh no, that's a little terrible -- not because of the food mechanic design, but because I was finding this game kind of frustrating from an inventory management perspective (too many items, like FTB minecraft). If that's going to be the case then there might need to be a little UI work on food (like a food tab (implemented already?) with a food tool bar that you can queue a few food items. I don't enjoy having to manage my inventory endlessly when I get to endgame (which is fairly quick in SB currently)
My main critique of the current nightly: What is the deal with this "new" recipe crafting time change? (the change may actually be a bit old, but I haven't been playing nightly for a while). At first I was thinkning "oh that's cute" -- but now I'm feeling like to craft I'm better off waiting until I don't really feel like playing, because if I'm going to be crafting a couple hundred torches or platforms, it takes a while and it's boring to watch, and if I click off the recipe in the crafting interface then it stops. I got messed up a few times thinking I had crafted a pack of stacks and went down to the planet and found that I had like 3 torches and 1 platform and 2 bandages and I thought "oh, some kind of bug" but then realized that I hadn't waited long enough. This is a super Constructive suggestion: at the least there needs to be a crafting job queue on a crafting table (see Crashlands crafting system for example) so that these multiple laborious tasks don't become more irritating because some people click around when they're watching an unnecessary progress bar fill up. But really, please reconsisider this mechanic -- like make sure you can articulate really clearly why crafting 100 bandages takes almost a real minute of a player's perhaps limited play time. Is a compelling crafting minigame coming? I've found that I use basically a bandage per fight -- since there's a lot of fights going around a planet one time, this is not a small concern (because doing nothing while I wait for supplies to craft is really, really boring and it makes me question why I'm not doing something else that's not-boring) But I also have to ask -- what does the creation time/delay add to single player? I actually make things with my hands, and it doesn't make me feel like the act of crafting is being simulated any better than it was with no delay. It feels mostly like someone else has decided I have more time on my hands than I think I do. I can sort of understand it for multiplayer servers, maybe (although I think timesinks are a terrible way to compensate for lack of content).

Updates on my performance quest: 1: Delete all previous mods: 2:Uninstall 3: Delete game folder and remains 4: Reinstall game 5: :Install game booster 6: Tweak all the performance options so it runs as smootly as possible 7: Clean my computer up, getting an fps boost in most games I can play. 8: I'M READY. 9: Try the game 10: 5 fps every 2 seconds. Play "LOADING: The game" only to be disappointed yet again. I guess it's too late to ask for a refund
I don't know why you're having an issue. I booted up the game and had the best FPS since the game "launched" except when using staffs. weird.
