Yep, I mean it's Starbound! Almost everyone here would likely agree that the game is looking awesome already, and almost all of us haven't even played it yet. c:

I admittedly don't even like space that much, but dat planetary exploration. Awwww yeah. Mining and exploring infinite (?) amounts of randomly generated worlds. Yes please. All of my please.

Normaly these threads get massive hate since most people are tired of "OMG THIS GAME IS GONNA BE AWESOME" like threads.
But to be honest this one atleast seems better written by most of them.
Just remember to use the search feature to check if there are alredy threads like yours

 

What I love about this game is that it isn't a very popular game in comparison to mainstream titles and it has such great community support behind it, I haven't experienced a community quite like it before. It's just awesome.

 

Anyone ever play Starflight back in the day? There was a massive universe of all sorts of planets that you could explore and extract different types of minerals and visit ruins and whatnot. You could also upgrade your ship and befriend or fight different alien species. All this time in the gaming world and nobody ever touched that sort of a game. I have been waiting for someone to do a new take on a Starflight type game. I think Starbound has nailed it. Tiy says he started Starbound with the goal in mind of producing his dream game. Not knowing that he is also producing my dream game too!

Not to sound like a party pooper, but I think the reason this thread isn't getting hate is simple. The last few threads that had this exact same topic (OP being excited about S were hated on, and instead of the mods rebuking both the posters for rude behavior and the OP for making a thread with no discussion value in General Discussion, they rebuked only the posters and encouraged the OP. Thus threads like this are now officially endorsed by mods, and haters get, well, hated on.
Just my take on the situation.
