every item in my planets got deleted!! WHY?! Q~Q

dude so im pretty far in the game. like, i got all the way to delta sector, logged out for a couple of hours, then lgged in finally and then it gives me my missions all over again, automatically completes like 4 of them all the way to the furnace, then i go and teleport to the planet and instead of letting me just do it it gave me an option to teleport home or to teleport down. which i thought was strange.. but i teleported down to find that it looked odd... on my moon i had a lot of holes where i spawned so i knew where i spawned in the first place. and so i started walking to where my house was. and nothing was there!! then meteors started raining down and i also started suffocating! so not only do i not have a house nor do i have a spacesuit, all of my equipment is gone! and to make matters worse, i beam back up to my ship to find that my 300 fuel in reserves are gone... so im pretty much screwed. nothing i can do unless i want to keep suffocating. and ontop of that theres no wood on moons... what do i do and why did this happen to me? my characters in tact and everything he had with him,. but the planet has nothing on it. its been wiped, and its totally different than it was before. ._. im so sad... days of progress wiped away...

 

There has been an update, they some times have to wipe the user files.

Yea nothing you can do but no it will have happened to everyone.

Yep and its happened about 3 times so far, more to be expected unfortunately.

Yep, happened to everyone. It's a result of Starbound being in early beta. You can expect periodic world, and even character wipes until it reaches a later stage in the beta.

 

If you're gonna freak out over losing your valuables, you shouldn't be playing this game while its in its earliest stages of public beta.

 

well the only reason why i "freaked out" is because i didnt know what the hell was going on., this is my first time its ever happened and i was placed in a very crappy situation. and so for future reference... im going to put all my stuff on my ship. cause apparbently stuff there isnt erased, in fact its saved. soooo yeah. i mean i guess i can go and craft all my stuff all over again.... i already just made my metalwork station.. and now im about to make my robot. but i need steel. and finding all this stuff is gonna be hard on a sector A planet... espedcially since i had like 100 bars of each metal pretty much in a box on the moon. and now its gone... :/

It was more like the planets, is what they wipe, not the character inventory...... and I saved all my thing on my home planet... so yeah I m naked.

 

Don't get your hopes up - future wipes will wipe your ship as well.

It's fun to see all the folks try to game the system.

 

Nope, the devs are SPECIFICALLY targeting you OP, they somehow know something about you personally that they don't like and have targeted your ip for the express purposes of ruining your game.

You realize this is a BETA yes?

 

ive had evrything in my ship and it got deleted 2 and the planet i was on changed to threatlvl 1

 

Yeah and i also realize your a fucking dickbutt. lol i know that shit happens okay? like i explained before... its a new experience for me, stuff just getting wiped. so excuse me if i got a litttle frusterated that that happened after hours of hardship and stress

 

On the launcher page it says in red that wipes are to be expected. *shrug*

 

Yes, unfortunately wipes and bugs are to be expected in this phase of the beta.
