Personally, I feel the current odds for the fruit bat cave are a bit unfair. If you have a mushroom cave, you're guaranteed 6 mushrooms every few days, including some rare ones. If you have a fruit bat cave, you're basically lucky to get one wild fruit every week or two. Yes, you do have a chance to get normal fruit, which requires a bit more effort to get than even the rarer mushrooms, but it's so rare that you might as well plant the trees, anyway. With better odds, allowing for the player to get one fruit every second day or so, for instance, I feel the fruit bat cave would actually be worth having (other than because fruit bats are cuter than mushroom crates).
Actually, they regrow every day. It's just that it happens at night when most people don't notice or forget about it. If you harvest them in the morning, they won't grow back in the same day so you'll have to wait until tomorrow night for them to regrow. But, yes! Totally agree that fruit bats are underpowered and a bit disappointing. I ended up neglecting the cave altogether because it wasn't really worth the attention for how sparse it is.
I would be satisfied if they could not spawn any forage-fruits, dosn't matter if the rate are underwhelming in comparison. Both are not that relevant, but fruits are much harder to get for the bundles.
