you should do something to take your mind off of starbound, if you're this worked up over it. i bet you have some other interests or games you play, explore those! the update will be ready before you know it if you aren't waiting on tenterhooks for it.

A bit of a difrence there and here,in here you are discussing the efficiency of percentage bassed guesses on the Progress of Starbound,when realy the Devs have given up on that.

The most cruel race discussion is difrent in the sense that,realy,he seems to not be abe to understand what I was saying,that Hylotls are HEAVILY implied to steal babies,with 4 races insisting that they do.Plus why would 4 races misundertand Hylotl language if none of em have a problem with the Hylotl ?That was what I was inquiring when he dicided to repeat the Euphotic armour sentence.

A lot of us users had lobopox, myself included, it was a dark time.

Now i want to know the efficiency of discussing the efficiency of percentage based guesses.

didnt the devs give up on release dates for things, not how ready they think the update is? either way it is rather different dicussions, but in the end they both are pointless

 

The devs have said in an AMA (or multiple) that they no longer give out time estimates, because they were always optimistic guesses and thus set expectations that almost never were met.

Also, most things are pointless in an existential manner. After all, even the most brilliant Dinosaur genius has had less of an impact on the Earth than a single, though-specific, meteor.

 

Rules to avoid any flame type discussions:

1. Date Askers - CF will not give dates, so no need to ask
2. Date discussers - No need to beat a dead horse - CF is NOT GOOD AT DATE ESTIMATES, they & we know this already - NO need to discuss
2. Basement devs - NO, they REALLY don't need your expertise - HONEST

they update you EVERY SINGLE DAY on the news section of this website. be patient and realize that these posts are constantly getting made. yours will not magically harbor some secret release dates because there isnt one. let the devs work instead of make them waste dev time explaining to people that coding + Assets take time

 

They're discussing release updates, not news updates.

 

right. but Chucklefish has time and again gone on record saying they don't want to give out release dates due to backlash of previous dates. You'll have to infer how long the update will take based on progress shown in news section

 

Yes and based on what I've seen, as well as the huge list of changes they want to make for the next update, my guess is we still have a few months. Just my guess though, that's all (no bashing here, just a guess).

 

I can't imagine it taking months honestly. That's just my opinion though.

 

This is my guess because coming from a manufacturing world, having 8 people work on a project of this magnitude, I put my guess 6 months after the previous update (6 months just sounded good I guess).
