Estimate of an Estimate release date

honestly... and I'm just being honest... I would play whatever they have now and be happily entertained. Yeah i can't believe all these people saying they want to wait for something polished. How can you stand it?!

 

I have the most logical answer ever for the beta.

Before the finished game launches.

Really. If they keep going at this pace, really shouldn't be much more then a few more months.

 

This ^^ Whatever we get out hands on will keep me satisfied!

 

I don't have any predictions for release date but I sure would welcome that promised Roadmap update. We can guess whatever date we want, but Roadmap at least gives us an estimate of progress, not mentioning new topics to discuss, maybe new screenshots to swoon over etc.

Also, remember that when Starbound goes beta we should help the devs with debugging by reporting any bugs. Doing so can REALLY speed up the transition from beta to full realease So we're partly responsible for the release date as well.

 

Agreed the more time the better the out come right well thats the theory. also happiness to everyone!

 

Early June or late May, a lot being shown and a lot of activity is buzzing lately so I am placing bets on that time frame.

to be honest i would say BETA to be released in a few weeks if not then yea summer or so i think the actual product will be released in a few more months maybe in 4 months or 3 months probably 6 or 5

I couldn't agree more. But I don't know if you know this (you might) but THEY don't even have a beta version. The game is still alpha. But non-the less I completely agree with you.

Don't pay any mind to them, they're just sucking up.

 

AFAIK both will be released in 2013, I would expect beta not before 30-December and full game not before 31-December.

Life is full of a nearly endless amount of things to do. Live for the now and months breeze by, don't worry because the Future will eventually come regardless, and won't come any faster. Starbound looks like its going to be an amazing game, but even in the video game world there are hundreds if not thousands of quality games you could play in the meantime. Other than other video games... Focus on your schoolwork, get a job, go outside and take a walk, get a hobby, chill with your friends (just to name a few things). Perhaps one should only come to the Starbound forums once a week, and you'll feel progress is going much faster. It's really not that hard to wait unless you have an uncontrollable sense of hype, which will only serve to leave you undeniably disappointed while waiting and perhaps even when the game is released.
