Estimate of an Estimate release date

So... Just wanting a ballpark here. Is the beta going to be released early summer, mid summer, late summer, fall? It must be before winter, if the official release is this year.

I think the general estimate was June-July beta and October-November release.

I am more than willing to wait however long is necessary for a completed game.

 

Estimated release date = When it's polished enough to be received positively by the world and provides an overall grand an joyful experience.

 

Better for them to wait to release a good game, than to rush it and release a broken game imo

 

I predict a mid to late summer beta release. No prediction on the final release as I'm sure the beta will keep me happily occupied until the final release.

Preferably I'd want it to be released (Beta) earlier in the May/June/July time-frame.

But I'd rather that they focus all their efforts on creating a full, complete game instead of a rushed one in order to appease the community. Meaning that if they inevitably took another half a year to finish Starbound..Then so be it.

 

The original estimates for release were end Summer, early Winter, end 2012/early 2013. My supposition is that the beta will be coming out in May-June-ish, but, yeah, I think it's fine, since they are doing consistent progress.

Its a thread asking about estimates, you didn't give one. So yeah my guesstimate is helpful in this context.

 

I am hoping that it will be released soon. The beta that is. The game can wait for a long time, gladly. I just want to play. Take their time with the game, have the beta rushed.

I can't agree more, so many people are like *queue hippy voice* "Woa man, I'd rather like, play a perfected polished beta man, like, don't harsh my mellow." In all seriousness I don't understand this mentality. A beta isn't meant to be a finished product and I don't know why people are expecting one. I'd much rather they push the beta out the door and focus on completing the game rather than this misguided desire to make the beta "Starbound - quests".
