    Right!
Recorded in this folder you've been to every world.
If you have been to some of the world has forgotten coordinates can try to find here.
Maybe there will be sailed after the official record. Otherwise be very difficult to find a planet visited.
Caused the error is in the folder one file.
It may take several attempts to know which file is the problem?

Ok guys and gals, I think I MAY have solved it. Completely exit out of Steam and Starbound. Right click on you Steam icon and go to properties, compatibility and make sure "run as administrator" is checked. Apply and exit. Now you want to do the same thing for "Starbound.exe", "Starbound_opengl.exe" and "Starbound_server.exe" contained within the Starbound folder in your Steamapps (my location was E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32 but yours may vary).

Now run the launcher, click the launch server icon and it should work. If it doesn't you may have to delete the Universe folder (make sure you back it up first!) and try again. These steps worked for me and I'm hoping they do for you too.

I take no credit for this as this is basically various methods that people have been trying on here all thrown into one.

Nope. Thats the same stuff everyone else is posting.

Also not sure my error is the same as everyone elses' saying that they have the same error.
Error: Access violation detected at 0 (Read of address 0)
    Error: Stack Trace...
    007D2D00 (E:/Steamworks/Starbound/git/starbound/source/core/StarSignalHandler_windows.cpp:16)

Mine only references this single core file, and the access violation doesnt list an address.

I am getting the exact same error message, I've tried re-installing audio drivers numerous times, different graphics card drivers, turning off crossfire, but still nothing.

The problem seems to exist with the PlayerCodex file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\universe

Once I deleted it my server could start up fine after rebuilding the file (I guess?) Nothing seems to be changed either.

From what I can tell, I'm pretty much having the same problem. I've tried running it as admin, removing the universe file, but nothing worked.

This actually worked for me, not sure what could be the cause but after doing that everything was working just fine.

The problem this thread is about isnt starting servers, it is starting the game.

Can confirm that deleting my PlayerCodex file allows me to run the server. Unfortunately I have lost all of my codex entries because of it, but worse things have happened.

I'm not such an error occurs the first run of the game
But my server after I just need to restart the network disconnection occurs
Re-install or delete any files on this game does not have any effect
So I think the problem lies in the cloud game record file

As this thread is not about server issues, I do not see why you are posting about it here, There are other threads for such issues.

However I do have an update for my problems launching the GAME itself. I tried everything i've come across to workaround the problem and have finally found a solution. The problem is not with running as administrator, since that doesnt work at all, the solution I had to do was this:
Since my user account is the only one on the PC I am using, since I am the owner of said PC, I have administrative rights over everything, I have everything set to run as administrator by default. So setting things to run as admin did not help.
I had tried every workaround but one, which was an odd one at that, which is to NOT run the game as administrator. In order for me to do this I had to create an entire new user on my PC, log out of my administrator user, and log into this new user I had created as a standard user, then I launch up steam and run the game and it works. This is a bloody awful workaround, as none of my stuff/settings/ etc is on this account. So chucklefish, if you are reading this, please fix this issue ASAP. There is no reason the game should not work when run as an administrator.

I will add this to the OP, and edit the thread title if I can.

The access violation error seems totally random to me. I tried starting the server over and over, it eventually worked, and I haven't changed anything.

Just as a notification to the devs, last nights patch did not solve my issues of having to run the game on a standard user account rather than my administrative account.

Alright, I've tried this method (trying to run the game with admin settings turned off by logging out of my regular profile, loggin in to a separate, non-admin user profile, and trying there) and it's still giving me the same access error. Any ideas?
