There is a update yesterday / today. But... once i let it update finish. i check, my character went missing, i tried moving the player data, meta data and ship data , copy and paste again. my character doesnt show up in the selection.. Is this part of the update? Removal of character

I had nice / materials for my builds :<

 

You char will magically re-appear if you reed atleast one post on this forum.

 

Dude, it happened to everyone. And I thought everyone knew about the coming wipe in the next update? But yeah, beta is beta. Since they revamped the whole system they wiped all characters. Feel for ya, bro.

Or if someone lets you know that a magical character wipe happened, due to a huge change in how the game worked.

 

The old characters and worlds will no longer work in the new patch. This is intentional due to the number of big changes that were put in to basic systems in the game.

There will likely be more character/universe wipes as beta progresses, especially at this early stage. Play, have fun, report bugs, but don't get too attached to any one character or item.

They actually did, quite a few times. And it has been discussed on the forum for a couple days. Keep an eye out, it is likely to happen again at some point.

 

Tiy did say on the weekend that this update would wipe the characters. It's sad but expect it many more times

 

They've been saying it's coming for 4 days all over the forums and main site

 

I barely visit the forums, The main site posts should appear on my phone, i read every single updates, i guess i didn't see any character wipe

This isn't a bad idea. OP you may not visit these forums, but I'd recommend you visit the steam forums. You would know about the wipe there.

 

i wasnt referring to the steam forums, i was talking about the game's front page in your steam library. not everyone uses forums..

 

People pretend to be irritated by posts like this, but they secretly enjoy the opportunity to be condescending, so this wouldn't be in their best interest.

 

They did, countless times.

 

My recommendation had nothing to do with your post. I am telling the OP, that if he wants up to date news, his best bet would be to visit the steam forums, as then he wouldn't have to actually leave steam.

 

They could have also said it on the phone, The app starbound codex :/ i only check updates from there. and they did not mention a single word about character wipe.

 

Is that an officially supported and maintained app? If not, it would be more like getting all info from a fansite.

Edit: also, if it is the android app I am looking at, it seems designed to pull the news feed from the Starbound website? This was in the news feed regarding the character wipe update: "This update will probably require a character reset (I’m sorry! Beta "

 

the app is not officially supported, just made by a forumer.
