Bug/Issue Erechius Horror Crash

Recently installed Starbound again, playing on a dell laptop with intel i7.

As everyone else is experiencing, my game continually lags every so often in short bursts. I've managed to live with it. However, when I got to the Erechius Horror things got a lot worse.

After firing the first laser, the game froze entirely for a moment, then started again before crashing entirely.
