  2. No I don't think your body is ready, but I can offer you a hazmat suit for that?

The fact that Anakin is surrounded by lava makes that quote hilariously appropriate.

Yes i am. I really, really am.

I'd love to see a more dangerous universe, and not by populating every single planet. But by simply having planets that are environmentally hostile.
Extreme cold, no air, toxic atmosphere, natural disasters. The combat system is in my opinion not to bad for a 2D side-scroller. But its not enough to carry the entire games difficulty. And the current planets feel a bit bland as a result, and the feeling of being lost in space is kind of ruined for me when every planet is densely populated with mobs.

Something i would appreciate is landing on a planet and finding its devoid of all life. Because it simply never developed, or because the atmosphere is entirely to hostile, or maybe because life has been extinguished at some point.

I hardly believe i am in the minority when i say that i'd love to land on a planet and finding the atmosphere poluted, perhaps radioactive, aswell as abandoned/destroyed buildings of a former civilization to explore.
Perhaps also some civilization underground, where cities arent just overground but some are hidden in the depths of the planet.

I hope the crazier the atmosphere/gravity the better the ore distribution or pixel density. Not that I need that motivation to explore lethal planets, but I'd like it!

    I love this idea.

You could really screw yourself by landing on a planet unprepared, though-- what happens if it's entirely toxic and you need fuel to get out, but you keep dying? Is that outcome possible?

It's a possible problem, but hopefully the near-instant-death planets will be marked as higher-difficulty and/or outside the starting area/sector. That way you have fair warning before any possibility of getting into an unwinnable state.

I love how many people are excited for the different ways to die. When they get into the game and die a 100 times, they'll change their opinions quick. "THIS GAME IS BROKEN!!" "ACID RAIN OP!!"

    Gotta love beta. :mwahaha:

They have talked about improving the planet scanner to give you a lot more data as well. I assume this data would be made available to try to curb this problem.

Still, if you ignore the warnings, it is likely you could get stuck. I sort of welcome that kind of challenge however. It would be great to get stuck on a planet I couldn't survive on and have to quickly build some structure to pump good air into and slowly expand it while mining into the inhospitable planet.

Worst come to worst you could join a multiplayer server to get another planet to mine at or start a new character and have him leave a care package on the inhospitable world.

To be honest, i'm just going to assume that the environments *might* gradually increase in harshness. For example, Alpha sector would be rather peaceful, like we have now. And each sector would be slightly more environmentally hostile. So, newbies wouldn't have to face an acid rain right off the bat.
    Again, it's only a theory.

Just be sure to pack your one hand acid protection umbrella, knife in the other hand.

I'm sure that's the way it'll go, but I'm sure it'll need some balancing.
That's where we get the fun stuff, acid rain that's melting everything, or Sandstorms that never end.

    I can't wait.

Awesome. I don't mind the consequences for not doing your homework, so long as they give you the resources to do your homework in the first place.

I'd like to see Moon planets that require a special sort of space suit, similar to how snow planets take some form of warmth, usually winter clothes.

I'd also like to see things like meteor showers and snowstorms!
