    Part 1:Remembering
It was years ago...I'm still haunted by it today, my village, hand built by my closest friends and family...Destroyed, burnt to the ground where it stood as we all got dragged away and told to forget...Because where we were going, we wouldn't need memory's... There was labor that needed to be done...and the person who needed it done was too lazy to do it himself...so that's where we came in...
We became slaves to the common man, a man i'm forced on a daily basis to look at, and repeat "Yes master" and "Thank you Master"...Ugh...it sickens me. I look upon the man who burnt down my village and i cant do anything about it! I look upon him every day and every day i get an urge, an an urge to just reach over and kill him, i know i cant, but i want to...
We lived normal lives...unaffected by the wars of the apex or man, unaffected by the outside world and all that inhabits it.. and then one day, the rat race of life caught up to us...and we were unable to live in peace any longer...oh yeah, we fought back...not good enough though...many of our soldiers weren't trained as they hadn't seen battle in ages, how were we to know that the greed of man would overcome them to use us as free labor...
But what are we to do, everything stripped from us, there isn't anything we can do, those who rebel get disassembled, easy as that, then rebuilt in a more fitting matter, reprogrammed to be the perfect slave-bots...there was a resistance forming it was easy to tell, but it was diminishing fast, whenever the "master" would find out about anyone working against him they were immediately sent to "The factory"...when they came back...they were never the same person...
Some can fight it...those ones...are never seen again...Loved ones are then taken to the factory to be stripped of all memory, to keep from causing strikes, how would you feel if you brother or sister or even parents were taken to a factory and killed, its devastating...If anyone should know...its me...i HAD a big family..My mom, my dad, 2 brothers, three sisters...in the village...my family was royalty...I lost my father defending the village...i watched as they tore him limb from limb to make sure he was gone...and then my mother fell into depression...she self destructed herself on the way to the farm...took two of the "Patrol" with her...as for the rest of my family...some were sold off...some were killed...others don't even remember there name yet alone there kin...
I just don't understand humanity...why have they got to be so cruel...they call us "scrap"..."emotionless Computers"...They don't realize we have emotions, we have thoughts, we are sentient beings and we aren't getting the respect we deserve...I can't....I hate remembering...almost as much as i hate the master...i can't keep going like this...i'm done remembering...its time to take action...No not rebel...i need to do more...somehow get the word out...i need to run...

    Part 2: Eden…

    A Day and a Half Later…

I would've said goodbye. But there was no one left to care, and so I just waited. Waited for the right time to go. Then I went. I had spent the night before formulating a plot. Every day, around noon, cargo mechs came in to take the previous days crops. I didn't know where they went. I just knew I had to get out of here and that was a one way ticket.

When you live in a place like this for as long as I have, you learn some things, talents and such. I'm not essentially proud of the things I learned, But they're survival techniques. As such I learned how to…"Liberate"…Items, such as this grenade I pilfered from a guard during his time off. Such, is the item, that is my golden ticket on to the cargo hold express. I set it up to explode with the opening of the security room door which gets opened at three points in a normal day. Once at four in the morning, Once at noon and again at eight for shift changes, the only fault in the plan would be if something occurred that would cause the security personnel to leave the office early. Thankfully the plan went by swimmingly. At high noon the cargo hold came in, at roughly twelve fifteen the new officers came in for their shift and, right on schedule, the grenade went off creating quite a ruckus amongst the "workers" giving me just enough cover to slip into a supply crate bound for New Astrock, a Novakid paradise residing on a astroid, as opposed to Old Astrock, which is a deserted mining camp on a destroyed planet in the center of the Gamma Sector 412 astroid belt, I learned this by overhearing some guards grumbling about the change of the cargo stamps costing them more pixels off their pay, Morons. I haven't heard much about the city but i figured it would be better then this place…

Eventually, I heard the engine kick on and we were off, at first I was excited, baffled and ecstatic that I made it out. Then i heard his voice…

"That was a ballsy move back there quickdraw." Then I saw the light…He opened the front of my cargo crate and the place lit up like a lighthouse. "I suppose you knew the explosion was gonna happen didn't ya?" I didn't say anything. My eyes were glued to him, i'd never seen one of his kind before, the twisted metal on his face was the only way I dignified him as a Novakid (If you exclude his "glowing" disposition.). He was dressed in old rags with two pistols on both of his hips."Hey, Scrap-metal! I'm talking to you!" He spoke again. It was at this moment I realized he was talking. I spoke back.

"P-p-pardon?" I stuttered out… it had been the first time I was allowed to speak in years. I thought my voice modules had rusted off by now. I could tell by his stance that he was surprised by my presence as well, though not nearly as much.

"Jus-Never mind…Whats your name Scrap-metal?" He finally responded after what seemed like hours of silence but in reality was no more then a few moments.

"M-my name?" I responded. "101426872-" He cut me off.

"Not your serial number! Your name, bolts for brains!" He laughed in a cocky yet oddly comforting way.

"Oh…" I honestly couldn't remember…"…—…" He cut me off again.

"You don't have one do you?" I shook my head and and the room whirred as i looked down to the floor. "Thats ok Scrap, well find one for ya in New Astrock." I Looked Up Ecstatically.

"You're not turning me in?!?" I replied in a whisper…He looked shocked and amused, I could only tell by body language, so that might've been my imagination.

"Oh lord! You're a trip ain't ya!" I looked at him confused, thats when he realized I wasn't kidding. "Listen brother, were in the same boat here, your headed to New Astrock right?" I nodded yes and then stopped to shrug, to show that I really didn't know where I was going. He seemed to understand. "Well, then you'll travel with me, because unlike you, i'm riding the cargo express legally! I'll pay the pixels for your trip when we stop next and we can chill until the drop off in New Astrock. Do you know what to expect?" He looked away from me.
My eyes widened and I replied.

"Not a clue…" My speech was a lot more smooth as i became more comfortable with using my voice module " I read that it was a Novakid Utopia…" He reaches out a hand to help me up and i graciously accept his assistance. He led me to the back of the cargo hold where he has set up a small area where he can eat and rest and pass time (his words.). He told me to pull up a crate to sit on and he told me how the city of New Astrock used to be, but everything good comes to an end, so he eventually changes to how it is now. As he speaks of the now poverty ridden city his posture softens and the light of his bare chest and face dims to a soft glow.

The city was thriving until the remembrance cycle ended…The remembrance cycle is what he has taking to calling the generation amongst the Novakid's where most technological advancements are lost due to the long term memory loss of their entire species. After the most recent cycle ended, New Astrock fell into a deep recession, and the people blamed the mayor. They formed a resistance and started rioting, and this cargo hold, was headed straight towards the eye of the storm.

Reaman Honor Hall, a memorial hall devoted to an ancient war hero of their kind where the resistance is held up and where the crops my kin grew are being delivered. It also happens to be where we are getting off this train, fortunately we don't have to get in the middle of the whole thing, we get dropped off and then we leave the place, there is no way we are getting involved in a revolution. The Novakid and I talked more for a while. He told me about New and Old Astrock. I told him about the day, the day we were captured…I also told him why I ran…Finally after a while of conversing the engine kicked off and the back of the cargo mech opened wide.

As he said he would, he paid for the both of us hitching a ride and he thanked the driver and helped unload while i looked around…

The place was beautiful, you could clearly see the other asteroids flying by the city at unfathomable speeds. There were big buildings all around and the sky was lit up in a bright yellow borealis, but then it happened….BOOM!!! The sky lit up red for a moment as a mortar shell collided with a large statue of what was probably Reaman. Although I don't really know as the first time I had seen the statue it was crumbling down and shattering due to the impact of the shell. Some people cheered as the statue fell, some cried. I, sat and watched it fall, emotionless.

I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, I turned around and finally got a good look at my friend, he reached out towards me with a glowing hand offering a handshake, I accepted.

"The names Eden, my friend." He said.

"Eden?" I replied making sure I got it right, it didn't sound correct in the monotone hum of my robotic voice.

"Don't worry." He replied, "You'll get a name soon, scrap." He laughed while he turned and started walking away. He got a couple steps and then turned to speak again. "You coming, bolts for brains?" We both laughed and I followed.

"Please stop calling me that." I yelled after him and started running to catch up. He replied quickly and swiftly with a simple.

"NOT A CHANCE!!" He laughingly spoke…

But as long as I'm companions with someone, even be it a western styled, cocky, Novakid. I feel safe…I didn't know where we were going…All i knew was that it was going to be better then where i came from….I was only partly correct...

  3. 13SithDeceiver13

    13SithDeceiver13 Pangalactic Porcupine

Pretty cool, but I'd suggest working on the format a bit. You could also try to get some synonyms for words that the Glitch would use, especially since they are in the medieval age. For example, instead of this:

You could turn it into this

Good job so far, keep up the good work!

I planned on it if this one got a good response, which so far its seems so.
