Bug/Issue ended up in dark land

Ok so, while I was traveling around quickly on a planet I started running into this.

I'm not sure what it is but it looks like a problem with loading in the textures in time for my arrival.

Game is vanilla. The game continued as normal, but blocks that have not been loaded were black squares that didn't let up even in daylight. this happened in the background too.

 

This was on a Windows 7 Ultimate , 32 bit system. I'll try to update with a log if I can replicate the issue in a session.
