so, starbound is lacking a bit of end game right now.

I'm wondering what you guys do to pass the time in the end game?

I really want to keep playing because i loev this game (260+ hours since release) But i just have nothing to do.

I have a colony but theres not much to do with it.

I have started building a base on an asteriod biome but thats getting old too. I'm just not sure what there is to do and i almost feel like wiping everything and starting from scratch. But thats just going to kill the little bit of interest i have left.

Theres gotta be something worth doing?

What do you guys do for end game fun?

Well I've tried bug catching and collecting rare art and artifacts such as sandstone statues that you can't 3d print. Other then that you could try building more, or start over.

I like the rare artifacts idea. I had tried exploring but theres not much to explore sometimes.

I've been avoiding digging underground a little bit, but maybe i should to see all the new underground biomes and such.

I normally just go onto servers after completing the game and messing around with overpowered weapons everyone creates

Oh my! You've been missing half of the game!

There are tons and tons of cosmetic items, outfits & sets, musical instruments, etc. to find as well... Crafting recipes, rare materials. Colony building...

Mulitplayer somewhat enhances endgame by default. But I'll wait for 1.0 to judge. Hardcore runs might ultimately be the essence of the game.

I havent really been digging much because if feels like theres not all that much to the underground once you've gotten the ores you need to go up in tiers.

I have a colony, which is expanding nicely. I am a little confused though. One of my colonists is asking me to build a house with 3 technological things in it and i cant really figure out what that means. It doesnt seem to be the stuff from the apex labs and similar.

If that is how you view it, then there will never be anything of value down there. You are missing out on all the microdungeons and challenge gates.

The "Endgame" currently is mostly about collectign stuff and building a home.

its still too repetitive and too much in quantities of it. challange rooms aren't very exciting at all. not if you have decent healing and a grappling hook with you.

From what i remember having dug around trying to go up in the "ranks" theres stuff underground but not a lot of variety to it. If there was, for example, Outpost microdungeons on a planet i was on, those would be all i would find on it, or if there was those guys in the houses underground with the fairy lights, they'd be all i find.

But, I'll go spelunking for a while. Maybe thats the change in habits i need to reinvigorate the game.

the problem is you go down there and find TONS of these, like 20+ of these fairy light houses. which is way too much, it makes these finds extremely low in value by the high quantity they appear. you rush through them chekcign the chets, done! And even the loot in the chests feels very repetitive. I remember when back in the old game most techs wer eonly in tech chests and them being quite rare while we alos had more techs. It felt more exciting finding a chest and alos more rewarding to look for them. Now its "meh gonna rush chestloot through this area now"

Indeed, the microdungeons are a bit repetitive, however, it's what's in the chests that you are looking for. I've found tons of cosmetic items, instruments, and other collectibles. That's part of what end-game is about for me -- collecting "all the things". That and building a house, colony, farm, and other structures.

Go in the mod section and there's a category called dungeons & side quests
