RELEASED Elithian Races Mod - A Starbound Expansion 2.3.10

Even though I agree, polishing bugs and porting scripts can be very nasty especially when it includes a ton of intertwined content AND which need to communicate with other mods ( such FU and other big mods). So despite everyone wanting the mod ASAP, I don't mind to wait if it's needed to polish and port the mod.

 

We agree with you there, we are willing to wait but we are simply hyped to get this content we have been waiting for. This is just interesting for us and we would like it as it should be, so we are willing to wait for the mod, we just want to know how the process is happening.

This is the final day of November, we just wish to know how well you think the mod is coming along, and when its next possible completion date is? There is no criticism what so ever in these words and that if you require more time then we will accept that and wait, for when a mod that is well made it is much better than receiving a half finished mod with the issues still prevalent. Just wishing to know, your next goal date?

 

Again, sorry for the delays and the long silences... I'd rather not disclose exactly why I go silent every now and then, and why I'm unable to work on the mod sometimes, but some things in my life are very messed up right now (and have been for well over a year). However, I'm still committed to updating the mod, and to continue providing support and updates to it in the future, but sometimes things just take (a lot) longer than I'd wish them to.

I'm still working on updating a couple of quests and crafting items, finishing all crafting recipes, and stamping out the final bugs. There's been a couple of very nasty bugs which took me far too long to fix, and at this time I'm still aware of one big issue which is proving very difficult to fix (certain Trinkian and Droden NPCs crash the game when talked to, while their Avikan counterparts do not).

It's taken far too long to update the mod already, but being the perfectionist I am, I just can't upload a new version until everything is working as desired... The update is coming along well enough, and the list of things to finish shrinks every week, but I won't pin down a release date just yet - I don't want to risk disappointing you all with a missed release date again. Alik'vah will live again, though! (love that name, btw!)

 

Thank you for the reply, it is ok if the mod takes a while. As stated in our previous post the mod is better well made than earlier released. It is fine that you do not wish to share your personal life with a host of online strangers. All we want to know is if you see it as possible for the mod to be finished before the end of December, it is ok either way but it is nice to know what the next goal is.

 

We aren't rushing you any those that care. We'd like the finish project to be up to what you want it to be before giving us anything.

Life takes priority over content. always will because its not a machine coming up with it now is it? Its nice to hear that work has continued however slowly though, so we'll keep an eye out for it when its ready.

 

Jeez dude, it doesn't matter when he releases the mod. If his life gets in the way it does, I cant mod at all because of school, family and friends. So Aeg, to be honest, most of us don't care when the mod is released. Heck, I don't care if it's released August next year, or later even. Do what you want to do with it, don't release it unfinished to please nagging fans, just do what you can when you can. So just f*cking ignore them, this is the internet, desperate fans don't matter! And if I want anything for you (judging by the stuff you've said), I'd just want your life to get its shit together and let you be happy.

Well, you've posted many questions asking for a release date, what does it matter? He's making the mod, just be patient. I've been following Aeg since the old spore RP (My account is now inactive/deleted) and as long as the mod is released, I'll be happy. And you should be as well, no matter how long it takes.

 

K'mon guys! We're all equally excited for this to come out. I understand if you're anxious for the release date, Shadow, but constantly asking for updates will not help. If anything that will only hinder. Please understand that Aegonian is a human being and may be under a lot of stress from any situation including something as major as a broken family heirloom, to as extremely severe as a death in the family. We've all been there right? And now, two followers, from way back whenever you started following along with the progress, are dividing their opinions about HIS mod, not to mention probably leaving any new followers in an awkward and tense situation to review or just discuss in general for this mod. And OctoShark, You've been following Aeg for, suffice to say, an extremely long period of time and this is very important to you, clearly. Tell me, in what situation does that give you the right to get so angry with someone that you swear at them? Personally, I'm not offended, but think about it, I'm going to assume that most of the people who play this game are under 14. Scroll up and read the chat message you sent to Shadow with swears. Now re-read it and picture Shadow as a 10 year old. Different feeling right? Even if he isn't ten, what do you think people see when they first join the discussion? Nobody wants to be a part of a conversation where every body is pitted against each other. So please, both of you and any one else who reads this, can't we be mature and supporting of each other for this? If not for each other, than for Aegonian, Myself, and the rest of the discussion.

And sorry Octo, as we were simply annoyed at the time by you having sworn at us over a game.

 

Look, yes I probably went over the top at shadow, but I just... Look I dunno. I don't care when the mod comes out, though as you said, nagging will hinder progression if anything. And I don't like swearing, but when I'm driven to it under such circumstances as a friend being nagged to do something he can't (at this stage) do I have no shame in doing so (but I still tend to censor vowels). And, not to be mean or anything but... I am in fact, uh... 14 years old. A 14 year old Australian.

So sorry if I offended anyone... But please just, stop nagging Aeg to release the mod! We have a month until the end of the year, and frankly, who cares if it isn't released by then?

EDIT: Look, I don't want to start another argument, but "swear at us over a game" there are two things wrong with that, A. Have you ever played a multiplayer game? People swear... A lot. And B. You continue to refer to yourself as "us" I can only see you nagging Aeg to release the mod, this means that you are either a collective hive-mind or there are countless silent naggers, lurking in the "shadows"...

 

No thats fine, although how we refer to ourself as a multitude is because we suffer from multiple personalities and would rather not go much further than to say that.

Good news, everyone! The update is almost ready for release, with only a few small things to finish before I'm satisfied with the quality of all the content. The Christmas holidays - which last for two weeks where I live - gave me a lot of time to work on the mod, and I hope to finish the few remaining tasks this week and during the next weekend.

So, further ado, the currently planned release date is:
Next Sunday, the 15th of January

No way to tell how late the update will release yet. I should note that this is the planned release date for the update here, on the starbound community forums. The Steam Workshop release will follow shortly after - perhaps on the same day, or perhaps a few days after.
