    Happy to hear it!

    I have done a little sprotework, though it isn't spectacular. What program do you use to paint your sprites? I used to use scratch, though... It turned out a little noodley. In my workbooks at school I've been doing little sketches and skeletals of what I think a full avikan would look like (I know about your sketch, I just try to make them a little more... Reptillian?), I could scan some and send them to you if you wish.

    Supposedly the more time consuming fixes are in place, but he's also doing an overall update as well. I'd like to know myself as well though.

    Any idea as to when in general it'll be released? this is my favorite race and I dont want to get to far into the story without this mod. All time favorite! For example: will it be done before x month or in what month will it be probably finished? Also, I would be so blown out of the water if I could help this project because I love it so much! I've been working on sprite animation for just under a year so far and I am already pretty good. If I could help in sprites or anything else it would be so awesome! If not what ever but please think about it. Thanks once again!

    Apologies for the long silence, everyone! Life has kept me rather busy, so there hasn't been as much progress as I had hoped for the past two weeks...

    I still can't pinpoint an exact release date for the update, but there's only a couple more things that need updating right now. One of those is the Avikan Colony, which I'm currently working on. It's getting a complete overhaul, as I was never really satisfied with the old one - it felt too much like a long corridor with a couple of rooms in it, as opposed to an actual colony. The updated colony is getting a more interesting layout, which makes far better use of its space. After that is finished, I'll work on updating the quests required for obtaining vehicles like the Keff, as well as a few of the quests which reward you with a unique weapon.

    If all goes as planned, the update should be done sometime this month. There's always the possibility that something will pop up that prevents me from working on the mod for a while (the past two weeks are an excellent example of that), but my goal is to finish the update before the end of the month.

    One of the things I did manage to finish last week were crewmembers for all the custom races. Custom crewmembers can now be recruited by completing generated quests for NPCs, just like in vanilla. The roles available for custom crewmembers are a bit different to those found in vanilla Starbound, and more roles will be added in the future. One thing to note about custom crewmembers is that the Tailor will not be able to adjust the outfit of Avikan or Trinkian crewmembers - this was a necessary trade-off, as the custom races have a completely different body shape as vanilla races.


    Oh, and to everyone who's offered to help me develop the mod, thank you! For the next update, there isn't really anything you could work on, but once the update releases I'll certainly welcome some help! Adding the remaining races is going to take a lot of new spriteart which you could help out with, be it the sprites for the races themselves, their armour or weapons, or other things like objects and vehicles. I also need to do a lot more brainstorming for the architectural styles of the remaining races, so even if you aren't too good at sprite art, there'll be plenty of concept work you can help out with.

    I figured something hectic might be going on. seems the closer we get to new years each year the more that pops up.

    glad to hear you've got a fix at least on your time required though. I'm not going to bother asking what went on the last couple weeks for you since that's not any of my business, just glad to hear its worked itself out for now though.

    Still I can't wait for this mod to be done, it'll let me test and be ready to go about the rest of my modding in earnest since I like to make sure I'm not breaking anything.

    Two things:

    A. I'm thrilled to hear it's returning so fast!! Despite the fact that upon character launch for any race, with or without mods, the game drops from 60 fps to below 15.

    B. I'd happily help with architectural designs, and maybe furniture, as I'm not very good with sprite animation...

    Cannot wait for the next update. We are so excited for the recompatibility of this mod, we really want to play as a trink. This will be fun to play, we may actually try building again.

    So, Aegonian hows the patch coming along? What sort of new content will we be getting? We do not know , but was/is there a color choice for the trinks? As there are only grey ones on the mod page with different coloured grills. And we ,figuratively cannot wait (quoting glitch friend at the protectorate), for the mod to release. And we have been checking the 'new' tab on the steam page for the past 2 weeks hoping it will show up. We plan to favorite and vote good for it when it enters the store.

    P.S. This is no pressure for you to rush through. Take your time and make it well. We just really like this mod and our building our own hype, since we rarely get this excited.

    The update is coming along pretty well. The updates to the Avikan colony are done now, so I've moved on to implementing a couple of new and updated quests, as well as doing more general bug fixing for all of the new content.

    The update will contain a lot of new content - more weapons, armour sets, decorative objects, and new food and crops as well. The Avikan settlements have seen major revisions, and while the crafting system for the Trink is largely the same as vanilla - using the same crafting tables - the Avikan and Droden no longer need any of the vanilla crafting tables to progress through the game. There's a great deal of new crafting materials to accompany this change, too. Tiered armour for the Avikan and Droden has actual sprites now, there are custom crewmembers for the Avikan and Trink, and the Avikan ships have been rebuilt from the ground up, too. There's even more new and updated content I haven't yet mentioned here, too. The Avikan have received the largest amount of new content, partially because they are still my favourite of the custom races, and partially because the Trinkian culture is simply a lot more rigid - there's less room for new lore-friendly content for the Trinks.

    The Trink have six colours available in character creation, although all six are a different tone of grey, and three of them have a slight reddish hue on top of them to give them a slightly rusted look. You can recolour their body using armour, though, if you want more variation in colours.

    Started playing starbound with some new races, found this, and it looks amazing and I can't wait for this to go up on the workshop :)
    I even went and browsed a bit on the roleplay forum; looks really nice. Good luck with this :)

    Meh, it's probably fine, we wanted to ask the same thing but could not think of the proper question with out sounding like we were pushing it. We wish to play as we'll but we must both be patient if we wish to receive a good mod.
