I found a strange bug with the Centens' blade (more specifically one called "Old Ones' Blade".) It seems that when I hit an enemy with it, they dont receive any damage and become invincible after, even to other weapons. The enemy also doesn't seem to react to the sword hit either.

Edit: I found the problem. Any blade that has ""projectileType" : "centensbladeswoosh"," in their file seems to be effected. Looks like the "centensbladeswoosh" file is missing

So this'll be a bit like a revitalised Racial Crossover project? Sounds awesome! I'll start writing some Avikan lines soon!

This is an issue I found a while ago as well, and rest assured it'll be fixed in the next release (it's already been fixed in my WIP build)! The problem was that the centensbladeswoosh projectile would inflict a 'damagefreeze' status effect on enemies it hits, which is a vanilla status effect which was previously used by all vanilla weapons. However, during one of the past few Starbound updates, this status effect was completely removed from the game, so any time my mod is trying to apply the effect it can't find the file, and so the damage system crashes... I recommend not using the Centensian Blade until the next mod release.

Another small progress update: I recently finished making the Avikan Race Mod compatible with Tiled, the map editor used by Chucklefish to create dungeons and villages for Starbound. This means that I'll be able to create new dungeons and villages much faster than before!

The first thing I'm going to try and build in Tiled is the new Trinkian settlement. Other dungeons I plan to make in Tiled are, amongst other, the Avikan Outpost, an Avikan Bunker settlement, and a couple of small dungeons for missions which will grant you unique rewards!

I know you are eagerly awaiting the next update, so here's a small preview screenshot showing some of the stuff I've been working on:

The previously posted image was one of my test builds for the Trinkian Colony settlement - basically me building a couple of example buildings to see what the architectural style should look like - but I've got a new image of the actual settlement for all of you!

Tiled is working perfectly, and the Trinkian Colony settlement is now almost finished. Here's a screenshot of (part of) the settlement as generated in-game:

With the 1.0 update coming in the next few months, what races will be done from the this mod? And great work, I think this is the most polished race mod I have seen :)

The current plan is to have two races - the Avikan and the Trink - be fully supported when the 1.0 update hits. The next update for the mod is going to release relatively soon - I'm wrapping up a few final things as I'm writing this - and it'll bring a new race, plus a bunch of new content for the Avikan and some other things as well. The update after that is likely going to focus on adding Avikan and Trink-themed missions to the game, and after that, I'll be looking into the next race. Of course, none of this is set in stone yet, so things might very well change, but that's the current plan for the mod.

Once 1.0 hits, I hope that progress towards new races will be faster, as I'll no longer have to take future Starbound updates into account as much. There likely won't be as many drastic changes coming after 1.0, so the process of updating my mod for the next version of Starbound will be less of a hassle.

Here's a ship I made of the Avikans.... Used a few other mods too, in order to get the rest of the look.

Hey, i've been wondering, how can you get the vehicles from the avikan?

    Aegonian Weight of the Sky

You have to attract a Keffrider tenant to one of your colonies - this NPC will start a questline which unlocks the Avikan vehicles. In order to attract a Keffrider tenant, build a home and fill it with Avikan-themed objects (or use the tent parts, these will pretty much guarantee an Avikan tenant). Then place some combat-oriented objects (such as a spear rack) and a static Keff object in the tenant's home - these are vital to the Keffrider being spawned. If done correctly, a Keffrider tenant should spawn when you place a colony deed, and he/she will give you the 'Keffrider' quest. Complete it, and you get your own drivable Keff!

Once you've completed the quest, you will also unlock the inventory of the vehicle merchant in the Starfarer's Refuge. He sells a regular Keff, and also a faster and lighter version of it, the Blink Keff.

If anyone's wondering why the Keffrider also needs combat-oriented objects in their home: technically, the Keffrider acts as a friendly guard, and will protect you colony like the other guard tenants do.

    I hope that helped!

And how do you craft a static keff?

  16. Aegonian

    Aegonian Weight of the Sky

Static Keffs are currently not craftable, but you can obtain them in different ways. One is given to you during the Keffrider questline, although you obviously can't use this to summon the tenant in the first place. They are also a rather common find in Avikan settlements and random encounters: the Avikan Camp and Avikan Colony both have at least one of them sitting around, and there's quite a few random encounters with the static Keff in them as well. You can simply break the object and pick it up, then use it for your colony.

I'll add a crafting recipe for the static Keff in the next update to make this step a bit easier.
