WIP Ebae's Character Portraits

Do the white bits show up in your drawing program if you were to put a colored background behind it? I had white bits sprinkled around an attempted portrait (I say attempted 'cause I thought I was drawing 1:1 to the actual sprites and was actually more like... 1.7:1) until I did that and cleaned them up.

Edit: Also, probably should have said that you did a lovely job on Elliot, haha. Can't wait to see how your Alex comes out 'cause I love him in sketch form as it is.

Yeah that's the strange part. I triple checked with several background colors and I can't see any white bits. Hmmm...

Ahhh, you tease me so! That download link is saying I don't have permission to download it! /touches screen longingly/ No but seriously. I love your Alex so much. He looks like the jock he's meant to be and I love you for making him.

Huzzah! I got it to work - sorry, I couldn't wait, heh.

I, uh, also went ahead and made some edits to Alex's overworld sprite to sync up with the portrait so if anyone wants that, you can grab it over here. It's not much. The only things I actually changed asides from the color were his hair and his workout shorts. Why were they so baggy?!

Oh gosh, you just don't understand. All the other portrait mods gave Alex an animu face and I would just sit here like "That's not Alex. That's not Alex at all!" So to see your take made my heart flutter with joy. Anyways, I don't know, I might go back in and edit his overworld sprite to give him some broader shoulders 'cause, let's be real, him and Kent are probably the fittest guys in town. I have to give Marlon a big 'maybe' just 'cause of his age.

*glances at what Alex is saying in your screencap* I can see where you're coming from, haha! Yup, Alex is the beefcake bachelor~ I took a lot of inspiration from Little Mac from Punchout. Muscly but a bit of a dork.

 

I've encountered a small bug with Alex. His happy facial expression isn't showing for me.


And honestly, those are the best portraits I've seen so far. It all blends perfectly with the game's style, unlike other modded portraits (playing with anime-style portraits was rather uncomfortable for me).
And that Harvey... my god.

 

The tile placement for Alex, the right tiles are one step down.

 

Oh, yeah, I see what everyone's mentioning. The right column of the portraits are one block too low. The empty one's supposed to be at the bottom not the top. It's a quick fix though. I got it working on my end.
