Hi there Could we maybe have some way of making it easier to head to certain planets? Such as the one set as "home" (or even a group of favourites). Something like a warp beacon which means you use less fuel heading there. The reason is because I find myself wanting to head to the planet I've set as "Home" less and less...given that I've mined it like crazy for coal, it means that I feel I can't head back without gathering up tons of fuel in advance. Adding an easy way to head there would ease the fuel issue a little. Currently I feel like I should just put everything I want on my ship instead.
I would go the full mile and say that returning to a home planet costs zero fuel, although I expect some people wouldnt agree with that. Being that home planets are usually where you congregate all your resources, it doesnt seem to be intuitive that you have to use up to 200 fuel just to make a drop off or improve the planet with resources you've found. Gives us all the more reason to be living off of our ships currently, perhaps when those homeworld mechanics are introduced we will see a change
My idea for this would be two have 2 craftable objects: Nav beacons and wormhole generators. Nav beacons would be craftable from the start, and would halve fuel costs to travel to the planet they were placed on. Wormhole generators would allow free travel to the planet, and wouldn't be available until much later, however, you would start with one to set up your home planet. Optimally, these would be objects placed on a world, though it might be simpler to do it through the navigation menu. Regardless, you would have to travel a planet before placing one. They should be pretty expensive to build, unrecoverable, and you should have a menu of planets you've placed them on to aid travel.
Hopefully you know you can set a planet that you have never been to has your home meaning you could abuse the fuel thing.
The wormhole generator would stay on the planet you placed it initially, it wouldn't jump around based on the set home button. If they gave you a list in the nav window you could eliminate the set home mechanic entirely.
