Easter Eggs

One day when your on a planet, just minding your own business, maybe mining or terra-forming, the portal 2 corrupt 'space core' crash lands.

 

if you ever reach the edge of the Universe, there will be infinite white space you can't enter. Floating in the white space, as though it was a mirror, would be you and every player on the screen. Except they would be different- like from a Bizzaro-verse or something.

 

ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US

 

Isn't asking for easter eggs kind of missing the point? They are supposed to be suprises, hence the name "easter egg".
Filling your game up with pop culture references, is not a good idea.
Most people are talking about pop culture references here, not about easter eggs.
Easter eggs and pop culture references are often combined, but are different things.

I would personally like to see something more deep than just writing a text, that happens to be popular on the internet, on an object.

I would like to see:
Quotes in appropriate places, subtly themed planets, historical or (pop)-cultural names.

 

This might not exactly be an easter egg, but they should add for instance a picture with a creature or boss from Terraria on it. Just came to mind.

 

Spacebound needs a Doctor Who refrence. One should be a half buried Tardis. In there would be a scarf. I forgot which Doctor it was. But it would be a legit Easter Egg.

 

but terraria would be so common to see around for some reason...
do something random like a powerranger npc.

Yeah, but we're just discussing it for fun, maybe some admins or Tiy or something might spot this thread, and actually add some of these easter eggs, but even if they did- they'd still be a surprise.

its a love/hate thing really. I love my little brothers and sisters, I really do...

but I never knew what it was like to want to choke a bitch until I wandered into the Kitchen one morning to stumble through the fridge for breakfast (5 minutes after waking up) and heard the bright, cheerful conversations of Dora the Explorer and her monkey

 

TARDIS, Deep Thought from Hitchhikers Guide, A colony of Lobster like aliens for my pal Zoidberg (This one isnt an easter egg, I just really want Lobstermen as a playable race so I can live on a tentacle planet in that green hued water.

 

How about an abandoned planet named Miranda that's surrounded by Reavers?

 

(Fable) A blind fortune teller npc who tells you either good or bad fortunes which come true.
(Half Life) A doctor Kleiner like npc who sells you various scientific gadgets and a crowbar.
(Limbo) A completely black and white area of a map that also turns your character pitch black for a short time.
(S.T.A.L.K.E.R) A random npc named The Marked One who sells you alien technology, booze, food, anti radiation pills and ammo.
(From Dust) A very hard / rare to find shaman who gives you a "magic stick" that moves bits and pieces of the world like dirt, water, lava and trees. [The magic stick is a special magnetic gun with mud and sticks thrown onto it]
(Borderlands) A gun vending machine that says. [If it took more then one shot, you weren't using a Pablo's!]
Sorry if the list is a bit long. Was trying to come up with some fresh ideas and these kind of popped into my head quickly.

 

I personally have no idea, but I am certain some people are going too far with the references.
They will only be good if they are subtle and small at small amounts.

 

Your references must be as a gentle breeze on a warm day; Although many will not notice it- those that do will appreciate its presence.

 

I would want to see some kind of Terraria-related easter egg =P Maybe a Hamdrax?
