Easter Eggs

The Awesome/Epic Planet, giant epic faces just come and swarm you.

 

Here's some:

• On a random moon orbiting a random planet, there is a shady guy selling a "luxury space station" for a really large sum of money. When you visit it, it turns out to just be a small tool shed with nothing in it except a vent in the floor. If you then shine a flashlight into the vent, you will see a literal Easter Egg lying next to a Molten Helmet (from Terraria).
• On a remote planet near the edge of the known universe, there is a small, dark cave that seems empty. But if you use an item that can blow things (leaf blower, fan, vacuum, etc.), dust will be blown off the walls, and cave paintings of prehistoric and extinct virorbs will become visible. These paintings can then be researched, and the virorbs can be genetically recreated to serve as pets.

 

Fable 3 also did it - there were three statues for 3 brothers at some lake town, and the plaques for each read out their cause of demise. If you recreated the cause of their demise (time of day AND weapon) for all three statues, an easter egg appeared in the little gazebo in the middle of the lake. A literal easter egg you could pick up and decorate your home with.

 

I'd like to see these guys, testing some stereotype statements about space...

 

"Can you actually escape a black hole, and if not is it really a portal?"

 

Kon from Bleach should be somewhere in-game! No idea where you should find a teddybear in space, but still: Do it!

 

I'm feeling a side quest line coming on? Eh?

 

suhweet, there is such a plethora of neat little happies the devs could put into game. itll be great to see what actually makes it into game, and whether I have the where withall to identify it when i come across it lol

 

I've got an easter egg related to War of the Worlds (the radio play, not the recent film.)

On a random planet, there could be a huge dome. Inside the dome, there could be a telescope and dozens of readable books. In these books, could be everything from notes about the native race's development, their plans for attacking the planet, and even their reaction to their troopers dying to a virus (could be anything, but the common cold would probably make people realise what the easter egg is from.)


This may be an easter egg that only the older audience might understand, but I think it'd be worth including it.

Yay, War of the Worlds. I've never heard the actual readioplay, but this reference is exactly the same as it would have been to the movie, no? Well, I guess I can't know unless if I listen to it sometime...

 

The film is pretty similar to the radio play, but in the play they come down to Earth in giant cylinders, instead of coming down in lightning. I would recommend listening to the play either way.

The reference would essentially be the same for the movie, but I was listening to something from the radio play when I typed it up. :C

 

Okay, I still want to listen to it sometime anyway, I mean, the thing is legendary.
I think somewhere in the 70's/80's/90's they also made a War of the Worlds film, with a worse special effects and a diferent ending (I think the aliens died in that movie because they attacked a church )

 

Nah they still died from their different immune systems, it just that the humans were taking shelter in a church

 

When you get to the edges of the universe, you can see random black pixels or dare I say, Reapers (from Mass Effect) in the sky of the planets there. Not really a good idea, but it was teh best I could come up with in about 15 seconds.

I'd love to see wheatly and space core floating around outside the space-station's window every once in a while

How about a heap of items labeled "Ancient relics", and inside that heap is found the twilight saga, spy babies 2, and other poorly made entertainments giving the future a distorted look on their ancestors.
