Easter Eggs

I LOVE easter eggs, after I finish a game, I always go ahead and search _game name_ easter eggs.
They're so amusing.

A keyboard cat stranded on a random planet would be cool.

 

I want a trolling style Easter egg. IE, say you find a box, only when you find the box it moves away, so you follow it, and follow it, until you reach a secret room. You go inside, and the second you go inside the door locks behind you and disappears, being replaced with unbreakable blocks while the room slowly fills with water, and clicking on the chest with a sign "ONWARD FOR GREAT TREASURE" above it minimises Starbound and brings up this youtube video:

 

Yeah, I know that this is not a sequal to Terraria, but a side scroller RPG/Sandbox title... I don't know any existing one except Terraria. Considering that Tiy did work on Terraria, I'd guess he would want to create some reference to it. I think Terraria would be more apporpriate than Super Mario, considering that the side-scrolling part isn't what Terraria is all about, sure it's a part of Terraria but what really appeals to most people is the amazing amount of content combined with the sandbox genre.

 

Well, I do know I've seen more of these kind of games, or at least one, but I really can't remember the name (or how it actually liked like) It was pretty old...

Anyway, let's get back on topic make more ideas!

I think a meme reference would be pretty cool. It does show that the developers are connecting with the players, in a way. Like how Dungeon Defenders made the "close enough" reference in the tavern, if anyone has played that game.

 

We need the aperture science hand held portal device.
And a sphere floating in space being hauled away by the space cops.

 

No, we simply need someone to say that the cake is a lie, even though it's far too cliché.

Woah, you guys know what would be cool? If the names of some of the people on this forum are hidden in the game! Would be a bit unfair for most of us, though, knowing some get in the game and others don't.

let's just get a character in the game that quotes Red Hot Chili Pepper songs.

meh, Californication is far to famous. We need something nobody knows about, like a character called Pretty Little Ditty!

Have to add another Star Wars one after all there one of the greatest movies of all time.
Han Solo in carbonite drifting by you space station window(random event).

 

Maybe some sort of Golden Throne, somewhere in the game, like the one the emperor from Warhammer 40k is in.

 

An NPC could say "Reach for the stars!"
Reference to Toy Story I believe.

 

Another one i just thought of, another star wars one no less . What if, as a random event, you could see words flying by in space like how at the beginning of the star wars movies there are the floating words.

 

I absolutely love how they did the Crawl in the original trilogy.

 

Should do a moon landing reference, like a cruiser or the pod they left?

 

If there's whales, there should be a chance for them to spontaneously transform into a bowl of petunias if you approach it.

 

With a random chance to have it on only 1 or 2 planets that are close.

 

There should definetaly be a 2001: A Space Oddessey reference in here. It's been a few years since I read it though, so I can't really remember much. There were quite some cristal-like objects in that book though, if I remember correctly...

There should definetally be a random spaceship called the Discovery! That was the name of the ship in 2001, right? Or is my memory failing me again?

Here's an idea:
Say you find a planet with a surface that kills anything on contact, but can be walked on if you're wearing a certain piece of clothing, and if you walk around on it, you will eventually find a crack in it's surface. If you drill into it, a giant chick (as in the bird, not the... you know) pops out and eats you!

 

I don't know why, but I would love to see a ghostbusters "twinkie scene" at a spacestation. Some pilots talking about radiation on a planet or something. "Well lets say this chocolate bar (or any other snack-food in space you could think of) represented the amount of radiaiation i have on my normal home planet. According to my scanner, the radiation on the planet I found would make this chocolate bar... 40 ft and weigh approximatly 800 lbs."

Great now I'm going to think of every movie I ever liked and think of an easter egg for it.
