Easter Eggs

Though I want the Doom Tram to be an easter egg, I'd rather have something from Terraria.

 

With the procedural generation, I think easter eggs might be tricky.
However, they did say that some of the story planets will be pre-designed, I think we could see some Easter Eggs there.
I personally love Easter eggs, Chrono trigger developers ending being my favourite ^_^

 

If they have a big store of easter-egg like things, it wouldn't be too difficult to put in a random number generator to say yes/no to IsEasterEggOnPlanet, and then how many there could be, and then where they are...
and there would, according to the law of averages, be one planet, or maybe more than one, which is made entirely of easter eggs. Every single one of them in the game could be found on that world...
And those worlds would be fought over by clans as trophies, more than likely...

 

It'd be neat if one of the crew (Scientists or engineers probably) said they lost their sonic screwdriver. Sorry, I'm a bit of a doctor who fan. Tiy being from the UK and all, I would be very pleased if he did add a Doctor Who reference of sorts.

I want an old man NPC to go with us on a space travel and say "That's no moon..."

I think the devs have said that the story-related planets would be pre-made, though.

I'd love it if they put in a Planet Zebes as an easter egg. Doesn't have to feature the entire underground complex of areas. Maybe just Crateria. It's the planet from Super Metroid.

 

or if one of the arenas is the Colosseum from Rome

 

I said this in another thread, but if you look through tar on a certain planet, you'll find fossils of a rare creature known as "Tar Tar Stinks."
I would also like to see Space Core, Nyan Cat, Moar Star Wars references, and jackalopes.

 

A giant supercomputer on some random planet with a screen that only says "42" - as a reference to the supercomputer from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books.

(Or maybe a robot named Marvin stuck in a swamp, complaining about how his ship just left him and that he's trying to prove a point - referencing the aforementioned book.)

(Or a restaurant at the end of the universe - referring to the second book of the series, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.)

 

A planet with zombies that drop Jill Sandwiches.

 

I would love to see some references to old movies either by monsters/npcs or by weapons.
I would like to see some references from old horror movies.
Examples: Critters, Gremlins, Army of Darkness.
And from some other movies such as Dune/Star Wars (well basically just throw in a light saber type weapon and there ya go) there are tons of things that can be used.

Put in a randomly occurring Herobrine-type thing that just stares at you xD

 

Some star trek reference like "He's dead (Playername.)" thumbs up if somebody names themself Jim
Or Darth Vader quote if you choose some kind of evil path in the campaign you can tell one of your minions who made a deal with you "I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further."

 

What about references to the forum users here? Like some monk guy that has a sign that says "Epic" above him, Someone randomly blabbing about a "Fluvirus*, and random jackalopes.

 

I wonder who that would be referencing...

If they did that, some people might be mad that they aren't included. If it were for a contest, maybe more of an idea. As a general thing, it could cause issues.

I'd be quite amazed if this game gets as many obscure references stuck in it as fallout2 did. I'm still finding easter eggs I haven't seen in it before.
Anyway parody anything from mtg or yu-gi-oh.

 

I'm going to be an easter egg/reference.
