could work although no one actually mention ever landing on it maybe its an easter egg if you examine a certain window on your ship with a curtain over at the right co-ordinates the curtain gets moved and you see earth

 

A little chance of spawning a chucklefish pet/enemy.

Anyways, I'd like to see some Star Wars reference, like you finding Darth Maul's lightsaber or something.

 

obviously they should add the monolith (possibly combined with primates)
or a dinosaur planet where you'll find a broken jeep

 

What about a fourth-wall easter egg?
Like one of the screens in the space station displaying the title screen of Starbound?

I've just thought of two rather silly H2G2 eggs.
One of the out-of-the-way terminals in the space station, with a radar-esque display could be a towel locator, to enable you to be a hoopy frood.
And any drinks dispensers on the space station argue with you about your choice of drinks, and then give you something which is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

 

Green planet full of creepers.

 

I mean I love references to other games, I mean they can pull off a Defender, Space Invaders or even Starcraft references easily.

 

I would love to see some interesting Easter eggs. So long as they are not collectible items.

 

I think it'd be cool if there was a dalek in the game. Or a triforce. Or a gun. (which is a reference to every movie ever made)

 

Or an object on a random planet that is forever guarding something.
Some kind of guardian of forever.
Eh, that'l never catch on.

 

I get a kick out of small references. Maybe something like "That's no moon... " or "Wibbly wobbly timey wimey". Maybe even the monolith, that'd be pretty cool.

 

What about the phrase "Take me to your lizard"? and "(insert anything involving Thetans)"

 

you can also put references in NPC names like, Rick Rollington or Hobo Baggins

 

"How appropriate. You fight like a cow!"

 

I am truly sad that I didn't think of this first.

Let's be honest, anything Douglas Adams makes a good little easter egg.
