The ... on the Banana sign (and the Banana sign itself) were such a red herring.
You can see on the other Apex sign, they also have a ... on them.

Woah woah woah! If J is 9, A can't be 1. Meaning the code was flawed from the start!!

    1 A /// 0 A
    2 B /// 1 B
    3 C /// 2 C
    4 D /// 3 D
    5 E /// 4 E
    6 F /// 5 F
    7 G /// 6 G
    8 H /// 7 H
    9 I /// 8 I
    10 J /// 9 J

So, either JABGH = 101278, which is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt00101278/
    Again... The Second Time

    OR

    JABGH = 90167, which is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090167/
    Thrust In Me

To get Iron Eagle, the code would have to be either IABGH, or JBCHI.
Which, encoded with ROT13 becomes VNOTU, or WOPUV. So, there's not really a logical way we could've came to the answer.
    The code was flawed. :saywhat:

    tl;dr
    A can't be 1 if J is 9! So JABGH can't be 91278!

  13. Well, I would have never figured it out on my own. :p Of course after seeing the answer, things make more sense.

I don't understand, though, why it was said that it was an easy riddle and that they were afraid people would crack it in 5 minutes. Maybe they give us too much credit. :V

  14. I STILL don't understand the explanation of how it was solved. The next few better be easier...

  15. From what I understood:

Apparently, only the capitalised letters mattered. So now we have:

Afterwards, that sequence goes through a decoding cipher thingy called ROT13. Basically, the letters there actually represent the letter thirteen positions ahead in the alphabet.

    So now we have:

So it's going to be a URL on the IMDB website.

The final sequence "JABGH" was then put through a name-number comparison type of thing, like A=1, B=2, and so forth. (That could have been flawed, as stated by Defeature a couple of posts above)

    Anyways, now we have:

I hope that helped somehow. Talk about far-fetched. :ssssssssss:

The same website I used to find "moo" had a ROT-13 converter.
I actually did the conversion and got

    #@35.6$)fqs(*U3L(#...#$.432@#.n@.IMDB..fnBB2.D@)(21*#@)*2#(33.24.56.@)#B94...Bn...JABGH@)!02.934.22.n2039

But I completely missed the IMDB.
    This is very frustrating. ;~;

Essentially, we were supposed to take out of the long line of gibberish these important letters (Molly had to give us these letters, however):
    HEY VZQO WNOTU
    (The HEY comes from H3Y)

Then, we were supposed to recognize that these letters were shifted by some sort of encryption. This one was encrypted with ROT13 (each letter was rotated 13 letters).

That leaves us with: URL IMDB JABGH.
Then, we were supposed to recognize IMDB is a site, and that the URL is probably JABGH (IMDB URL: JABGH).

However, the site uses numbers instead of letters for urls. So we were supposed to transform JABGH into numbers. So we were supposed to use an A=1 cipher (B=2, C=3, etc), and get 91278 (somehow, :lod: just look at my post above to see the explanation for that).

So when 91278 is plugged into an IMDB URL, you get http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091278/ (the "00" before 91278 comes auto, even if you don't type it in). The movie title is: Iron Eagle. To which the easter egg is: IronEagle.

Hope I cleared that up for you.

EDIT: Well, ninja'd. Obviously I'm too slow.

It is my understanding you ignore the letter i in a lot of alphanumeric subsets since it so closely resembles the number 1. If that is the case (and i'm not 100% on that) then j would equal 9 and it would work out.
