Earthbound

The SNES title Earthbound was one of my favorite RPGs growing up. I had a brief flutter of excitement the first time I saw something about this game on RPS. Since then, I've realized that there's probably not toooooo much similarity likely. But I'm curious: How many people remember/loved the old Earthbound? And to the devs, did any of you play it, and would you say that there's any inspiration drawn from there?

Not really any similarity. I did draw some inspiration from Earthbound in my dev blurb on the wordpress site though. (Specifically the Gigyas fight.) Earthbound is a delightfully charming game.

 

Yeah, I'm in awe of a company where the devs are on the forums within minutes of a post replying to random miinutiae

There's no apparent inspiration, but I hope there's some kind of reference to Earthbound in this game. Mother is one of my favorite RPGs, I wish it were more famous.

 

I've never played it. I want to check it out but it still hasn't come to Nintendo's downloadables for some reason.
