Early Novakids, Is it possible?

It would be fairly straightforward to make a race that looks like Novakids, but I wonder if their skin/hair is going to be animated to give the appearance of being an energy being. As of right now a system to do that doesn't exist.

 

IMO if people are not taking part in the Beta Testing phases because they can't be Novakids then good...honestly that type of mentality hurts beta tests.

 

Don't let the NovaHaters get you down, The devs said development on Novakid wouldn't slow down other development stuff.

What is so special about novakids?

 

He is saying that his desire to play a novakid is not preventing him to playing. There are 3 groups

1. people who don't care about novakid
2. people who want to play a novakid but are playing starbound anyways
3. people who want to play a novakid and are not going to play starbound until they can.

He is saying he is in group 2, not group 3.

The roadmap already says they won't come until after non-stretch goal content is complete, so just by that alone, especially because there's not actually a good reason for it, it likely won't change.

Simply put - they weren't part of the original plan.

You're saying that a race that has no real effect on gameplay is causing people not to play. Most people who aren't playing are either not doing it because they don't want to spend time on their char just for it to be wiped and others feel like waiting for actual release rather than getting used to gameplay features that might be changed in the future.

Look at it this way: You have a reason to start a new character once the Novakids come out.

 

Goal 2 -pay 1.000.000$ for Pony race.
Next day, race released.
